The Order of the Sacred Garter is an order of chivalry within the United Kingdom. In 1868, following the death of the Grand Master of the British Rite of the Templar Order, Crawford Starrick, Queen Victoria invested the Assassins Henry Green, and Jacob and Evie Frye in the Order, as reward for their part in ending Starrick's plot to claim the throne.

Members of the Order were granted the noble titles of "Sir" or "Dame", depending on their gender.
