Norway is a Scandinavian unitary constitutional monarchy whose territory comprises the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula.
Etymology
The name "Norway" comes from the Old English word Norþweg meaning "the way to the north".[1]
History
In 855, Kjotve the Cruel and the Wolf Clan led a raid in the village of Heillboer because of Varin's allegiance to King Styrbjorn Sigvaldisson of Fjornburg. Varin gave his life willingly to the Wolf Clan under the false pretense that they would refrain from destroying the village. The village was razed to the ground and many of its inhabitants were killed by Kjotve's men, including Varin's wife Rosta. Their daughter, Eivor was able to escape death when she was rescued by her friend Sigurd Styrbjornsson.[2]
On 27 February 1943, the Assassin Eddie Gorm infiltrated Vemork, the hydroelectric power plant that housed the Die Glocke, a time-travelling device, spearheaded by Obbergruppenführer Gero Kramer, a German Templar. Kramer, having been subjected to the Nazis' übermensch project, was able to easily overpower Gorm and placed him within Die Glocke as a test subject. Kramer ordered Nikola Tesla to activate the device, though the scientist had secretly sabotaged it. When the Allies simultaneously infiltrated the facility and destroyed the heavy water storages, Die Glocke was rendered inert and the Nazis were forced to abandon their plans.[3] In April 1944, after occupying Denmark, Germany invaded Norway and set fire to a Norwegian village.[4]
In modern times, the Assassin Mentor William Miles set up his personal bunker in a hidden cove near the city of Tromsø.[5]
