Modu (c. 234 BCE – 174 BCE) was a Xiongnu Prince who later became the leader (Chanyu) of the Xiongnu tribes following the death of his father Touman. Years prior to his ascension, he was sent to the Qin dynasty as a political hostage amidst the Xiongnu incursions into China.[1]
