Mardonius (died 479 BCE), also known as Mardonios, was a Persian commander who served under Darius I of Persia during the Greco-Persian Wars.

During the Persian occupation of Athens, Mardonius visited a temple of Hera south of the city and had it burned down.[1]

After his death and defeat in the wars, Mardonius was featured on a stoa located in Sparta, Lakonia, Greece.[2]
