Leroux was a French warden of a local prison that was situated in eastern La Bièvre, Paris.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Leroux worked at a local prison alongside his deputy warden Hugo Soulière during the French Revolution. While in charge, Leroux garnered a substantial gambling debt to the local gang Les Marcheurs Morts but made a deal to release some gang members to cover his debt. Leroux also requested to remove Hugo, noting Hugo's incompetence at his job and hostility towards him.[1]
Walking home one night, Leroux was followed and killed by Hugo, who was equipped with a weapon custom-made for the Les Marcheurs Morts.
