Jonathan Hawk was a member of the Assassin Order and a descendant of the Alaman Assassin Accipiter and Egyptian Assassin El Cakr. In 2012, he went into the Animus to relive the memories of his ancestors.
While in the Animus, he was forced to relive the battle in 259, between the Alamanni and the Romans in Aube, which his ancestor Accipiter took part in. After having relived more of Accipiter's memories, Jonathan's nurse unplugged him from the Animus to let him rest for two hours, as a longer session could be dangerous for his mental health.
Later on, he visited Desmond Miles and the other Assassins to ask them for the "Folder Nº24" that Stella Crow had given to Desmond. He told his fellow Assassin's that he had been assind to their team & in the process he told Desmond that he was a descendent of Accipiter making him a distant cousin to Desmond. Upon looking at the folder, Jonathan noticed a picture of an Egyptian pyramid & quickly realized where their mission would take them next.
