The Geography is a treatise composed by Ptolemy. During the early 16th century, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze bought a copy of this book from a book shop in Constantinople.
Summary
As the first systematic treatment of the principles of map-making, Ptolemy's "Geography" was one of the most influential books in the West. For more than a millennium after its completion in the second century CE, cartographers throughout Europe and Western Asia consulted Ptolemy's book for guidance, data and inspiration.
