Eanbhert (died 870s), also known as The Vellum, was a scribe and a member of the Order of the Ancients' Wardens of Law sect in England, holding the title of Preost. He resided in a house overgrown with vegetation near the dock in Glowecestre.

Biography

Growing up, Eanbhert was a meticulous man, carefully checking over his work. Skilled as a scribe, Eanbhert came to find certain documents, which entailed of a secret order that existed in England. Eanbhert went to seek them out and was soon inducted into the Order himself. Eanbhert's precision gave him a fruitful advantage as he soon achieved the rank, Preost, and was given the very hardest tasks, which were accomplished cautiously.[1]

The title, The Vellum. was determined from a clue uncovered by Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan. This clue led Eivor to investigate the fort in Thieves' Warren, in Glowecestrescire, as The Vellum's business was mentioned to be in its vicinity. Inside a hut in the area with a corpse and a note on top of a counter, another clue divulged the location and true identity of The Vellum: Eanbhert. Eanbhert's location was at a house in the county that was covered by overgrown nature near the dock in Glowecestre, Glowecestrescire. Working inside his house, Eanhbert was discovered and assassinated by Eivor.[1]

After his death, Eanbhert carried another clue, which mentioned another Order member, The Dart.[1]

Behind the scenes

The first clue that Eivor receives for identifying Eanbhert can be obtained from assassinating either Hunta, The Baldric in Ledecestre or Havelok, The Billhook at his villa in Lincoln, or from defeating the Zealot Beorhtsige, who patrols in Glowecestrescire, or from a letter at the altar in St. Kenhelm's Church.

Assassinating Eanbhert may provide a clue to the identity of Tata, The Dart, if it has not already been obtained elsewhere. It may also provide a clue to the identity of Havelok if it has not already been obtained elsewhere, thus the death of one will begin the trail to the other.

Eanbhert's sobriquet of The Vellum refers to a type of paper made from the skin of an animal and is good for writing on. It is very likely derived from his occupation as a scribe.
