Cuthbert

Cuthbert (died 873) was an Anglo-Saxon who served as the head priest of Walden in Grantebridgescire during the 9th century.

Biography

Cuthbert was an ally of the nobleman and Order of the Ancients Wigmund, often directing his pupils to the latter to learn more about the Order's ideals. In 873, following Wigmund's defeat in Grantebridge at the hands of the Great Summer Army led by Soma, Cuthbert became one of the targets Soma sent Lif to eliminate to reduce Wigmund's backup. With assistance from Eivor Varinsdottir from Ravensthorpe, Cuthbert was confronted in the monastery and was eliminated.

Behind the scenes

The name Cuthbert is of Old English origin, meaning "bright, brilliant, famous." It was notably the name of an Anglo-Saxon saint who lived during the 7th century.
