Walden was a monastery in the southeast of Grantebridgescire, England. During the 9th century, it was led by a priest by the name of Cuthbert, who was allied with the ealdorman and Order of the Ancients member Wigmund.

Because of his ties to Wigmund, Lif, a Viking and advisor of Soma, was assigned to lead a raid on the monastery and eliminate Cuthbert to dwindle Wigmund's influence in the region. With aid from Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, the Vikings stormed the monastery and eliminated Cuthbert in the abbey.[1]
