Brigid was an Anglo-Saxon woman who lived in Glowecestre in England during the 9th century.

Biography

Brigid met Viking blacksmith Gunnar after which they started dating. Shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir traveled to Glowecestrescire to meet with them and bless their engagement.[1] After the events that transpired in Glowecestre, Brigid moved in with Gunnar in Ravensthorpe. Eventually, Gunnar asked Eivor to marry him and Brigid. According to Gunnar, she did not have real connections anymore with her family, thus their wedding was only attended by Ravensthorpe residents.[2]

Personality and characteristics

Brigid's voice bore a heavy accent and most Ravensthorpe residents, including Randvi and Eivor, did not understand what Brigid was actually saying. Gunnar, however, did.

Behind the scenes

Brigid is a character that appears in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, though her voice actor is not credited in the game. In an interview with Assassin's Creed Sisterhood on 2 March, 2021, Valhalla's Narrative Designer Betty Robertson disclosed that the actor's first name is Aimee and that she intentionally spoke English with a heavy Northern Welsh accent.[3] Exactly six months later in September, fan site Access the Animus revealed that Brigid's lines could be found in the game files and posted a video with the translations for all the gameplay and cutscenes featuring Brigid.[4]
