The Hop Wo Society was a front for the Green Gang, a Chinese gang led by Du Yuesheng. Under the guise of a trade union, it operated out of the Great World in Shanghai, China in the early 20th century.

Upon realizing the Black Cross' presence, the organization set a trap for Bolden at one of their offices.
