Gorgon Shield

The Gorgon Shield was a type of light shield bearing the frightful image of Gorgon Medusa.

In the late 9th century, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan received this shield as a gift from Octavian for collecting enough Roman artifacts for his museum.[1]
