Kala was a jötunn that sought Gunlodr's hand in marriage. He was the twin brother of Vindr.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin at Jötunheimr, Kala and Vindr, having asked for Gunlodr's hand three times and receiving three negative answers, decided to conjure a storm and bury Útgarðar "beneath the snows of [their] fury". Odin looked for the source of the storm, finding the brothers and being attacked by them. In the end, Odin killed both brothers, stopping the storm.[1]
