Crooked Island

Crooked Island is an island and district that is part of the Bahamas, located in the Gibara region of the West Indies.

During the early 18th century, one of the island's beaches was the site of a fishing village. The town was almost entirely built on stilts, to protect it against high tides and storm surges.[1]

Like other such settlements, it proved to be a popular resting place for pirates, possessing a harbormaster's station, a general store and a tavern, the "Crooked Island Canter". The pirate Edward Kenway was known to have visited the village to accept two assassination contracts via pigeon coop.[2][3]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

If players had pre-ordered Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag or purchased the Illustrious Pirates Pack, they could find the German Rapiers in a treasure chest on Crooked Island.
