The Hercules was a brig in the Spanish Navy that sailed in the Caribbean during the early 18th century.
The Hercules was ambushed and sunk by the pirate ship, the Jackdaw, after the Dutch merchant Milo van der Graaff hired the pirate Edward Kenway to sink the Hercules and its escort schooners as an act of revenge for the captain's cruelty in killing many of Van der Graaff's employees.[1]
