Abe no Nakamaro (Japanese: あべ の なかまろ, Translate to Chinese as: 阿倍仲麻呂 or 阿部仲满; c. 698 – c. 770) was a Japanese scholar and poet who served on an envoy to the Tang dynasty and served as the governor of the province of Annam. A friend of the Chinese poet Li Bai and monk Jianzhen, he came to China in search of the Pieces of Eden.
