The noise and commotion of the Bazaar make it the perfect place to act. A small contingent of servants belonging to the Byzantine Ambassador are weaving their way through the bustle of the Bazaar, each carrying a different item. However, you cannot tell from a distance which servant is missing a finger. You must identify the correct chest before your chance to get the Astrolabe piece is gone.

The decoration clearly indicates that this is the right chest. As you move closer, you can see the servant is missing a finger. Despite your insight, the servants are about to leave the Bazaar by the time you reach them. You must quickly find a way to take the Astrolabe piece!

The chest is too plain to be the one you are after. Finding the chest with the ornate Abbasid scroll motifs takes you time and the servants are about to leave the Bazaar by the time you reach them. That was close!

Perhaps the piece is hiding in plain sight.
As you get closer, you can see that the carrier is not a servant but a merchant carrying a basket of goods to a stall in the Bazaar. This is clearly the wrong chest. Locating the correct target, the chest with scroll motifs, takes you time and means the servants have almost left the Bazaar by the time you catch up with them. That was close!

The prison is highly secure. Although it would not be too difficult for you to slip inside undetected, getting your Brother out will not be so straightforward. Your best bet is to go in disguised as someone who would have the authority to remove an inmate from the prison.

The guards at the prison gate jump to allow you quick entry as a Qadi has sufficient authority to refute Caliphal law. When you declare your Brother innocent, none of the guards dare to challenge you. A Qadi is the perfect disguise!

The guards at the gate allow you entry, but ask why someone in prison for theft should face execution. If you had posed as a Qadi, you would have had enough power to remove the prisoner without facing a challenge from the guards. You may have to answer more questions on your way out.

Once inside the prison one of the guards begins to escort you to where your Brother is being held. He asks you what crime the prisoner you have come for committed - what do you tell him?

Just tell the guard the truth, you don't want to complicate matters.
The guard nods and continues walking, agreeing that most prisoners are either debtors, thieves or both. He doesn't appear to have any suspicions regarding you yet. Mixing a little truth into a lie makes it more believable, that was the right decision.

If you make the prisoner sound important the guard might get you to him faster.
The guard takes you to the Mutbaq - a terrifying series of deep wells with important prisoners at the bottom of each of them. This detour costs you more time, you should have just told the guard the truth! You manage to backtrack, telling the guard he must have misheard, but he is looking at you suspiciously now, you will need to be more careful.

The guard accuses you of being a fraud, since murderers are not imprisoned, they are executed! You are forced to knock out his guard and find another to help you reach your Brother. You should have just told the truth!

When you finally reach your Brother and free him from his restraints, he stands shakily on a broken leg. He whispers that the Astrolabe piece is gone, stolen from him by a guard as he was arrested - the same guard who is waiting to escort you both out! How will you get the piece back?

You manage to steal the piece from the guard on your way out of the prison. Unfortunately, he soon notices it was missing and starts searching for it - you had better leave the prison immediately. Perhaps you should have paid him for it instead.

There are two bathhouses - as you open the door to the first one you can hear a woman's voice...

You set off for the harbor immediately in search of the Tiraz.

Hammam are single-sex baths and the Byzantine Ambassador will be in the men's! By the time you enter the men's baths, the Byzantine Ambassador is leaving. You have no choice but to follow the Ambassador discreetly in the hope that he will lead you to the Tiraz. This is not ideal.

Once inside the room, you hide yourself and listen. It takes a while for you to realize that all the voices you can hear are female. You have no choice but to follow the Ambassador discreetly in the hope that he will lead you to the Tiraz. This is not ideal.

You arrive at the harbor and can see a stack of boxes being loaded onto a ship, but the Tiraz is not among them. The men loading the boat notice it is missing too and start shouting in alarm. Looking around, you spot a boat furtively heading up the canal carrying a single large box - a thief has gotten to it before you! How do you try to intercept him?

There is a wooden bridge ahead, you could use it to block the boat.
This wooden bridge is a floating pontoon, as most of Baghdad's bridges are. You cut the ropes connecting the bridge to one side of the canal and push the end of the bridge off. It swings out across the water and pins the boat against the side of the canal. All you need to do now is take the Tiraz from the box.

Hopefully it will stop and you can take the box then.
You follow the boat as stealthily as possible, but unfortunately the men from the harbor do the same and they are soon surrounding the thief and the box. You are forced to snatch the box from them and run. You open the box as you are making your escape. Hopefully if you take the Tiraz and drop the box that will distract them so that you can get away. Using the bridge to catch the thief would have been quicker and much safer.

It's a long jump and a small boat, but you think you can make it.
You race along the side of the canal and take a flying leap into the boat. It rocks alarmingly, pitching you, the thief and the box into the canal. You dive into the water after the box - you can only hope the Tiraz has not been ruined by the water. Using the bridge to block the boat would have been less risky.

Yes, this is a Tiraz! You slip it inside your clothing and leave the box behind. Heading for the Bureau you cannot help but grin - against all the odds you have managed to obtain the Tiraz. The Hidden Ones and the Art Collector will be impressed.

Made of glass, it looks light and delicate.
As you try to take the bowl from the box you realize it's been cracked in two during the chase. You hope that wasn't the Tiraz, because if it was then the Art Collector won't want it now. Then you remember - a Tiraz is a piece of embroidered cloth! You snatch up the embroidery and head back to the Bureau.

The contents give off a strong, sharp, herbal smell.
As you remove the bag from the box you recognize the smell - Balsam... this is not a Tiraz! You remember that a Tiraz is a piece of embroidered cloth. Grabbing it from the box, you run into the alleys. You make it back to the Bureau breathing hard from the escape - hardly making you look like you've handled the mission with ease.

The Bactrian Camel is a little uncomfortable to ride but makes up for that in speed and strength. It seems to be in its element in the cooler air of the mountain pass and you make it back to the Bureau quickly and safely, this mount was the perfect choice!

The Dromedary's wide feet and great strength keep it going all the way back to Baghdad. However, it is in a bad state when it gets there. Dromedaries are better suited for desert travel and this one did not enjoy the cooler temperatures and the altitude up in the mountains, the Bactrian would have been a better choice.

She holds out her piece of the Astrolabe, saying she will give it to you as payment if you take her son out of here, or find a way to ensure his safety. How will you proceed?

Smiling to himself, he asks where you should head if you needed to find a Ziggurat to use an Astrolabe.
