The Bludgeoner was a heavy mace fashioned with steel, animal bones, and boar tusks which once belonged to a Greek individual in the 5th century BCE.
History
After its wielder was killed by a pack of wild boars in a Messenian cave, news of its location reached a Makedonian man named Aiantides. Aiantides had come to Messenia on false advice to make a fortune, only to be lured into a human trafficking operation. The bandits who captured him planned to sell him into slavery, but he was freed by Kassandra the Eagle Bearer.[1] This was the fourth time the misthios had saved his life,[2][3][4] and as always, the Makedonian immediately sought to repay the debt.[1] On this occasion, he handed a scroll to Kassandra detailing where The Bludgeoner could be found.
