Team Epsilon, or Epsilon Team, is a paramilitary task force employed by Abstergo Industries and its subsidiaries for the purpose of executing clandestine operations. Created to hunt down Assassins, Team Epsilon was led by the Templar Maxime Gorm, who joined their deployment on 6 December 2000 as part of the Great Purge to eliminate an Assassin camp in Kyushu, Japan.[1]
By 2016, the team remained operational and was deployed under the orders of Ortega Sanchez and Whittaker to assault an island in Argentina housing a secret Erudito stronghold, with the objective of locating and eliminating an Assassin cell working with the group. Team Epsilon were able to eliminate much of the Erudito members but its key leaders Ortega and Whitaker were taken down by the Assassins, the former killed by a helicopter bullet barrage.[2]
