Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service? This article is in desperate need of a revamp. Please improve it in any way necessary in order for it to achieve a higher standard of quality in accordance with our Manual of Style. |
Stalkers were Byzantine assailants, who were determined to kill the Assassin Ezio Auditore in the city of Constantinople during 1511.
Stalkers were dressed similarly to civilians and wielded short blades that they concealed in their sleeves before attacking. They also carried a large amount of Akçe, as well as rare bomb ingredients.
Behavior
When approaching their target, stalkers would often hide amongst the crowd, and conceal their weapons until they were sure they were unseen. Should Ezio be looking towards them, they would only stand still and wait for an opportunity to strike him from behind.
Stalkers would rarely engage in open combat, and would only sneak up behind Ezio, stab him, and flee. However, they were often disarmed and killed before they could strike.
They would also participate in the attacks on Assassin Dens, sneaking onto rooftops to kill Assassin defenders from behind.
In order to counter them, when a stalker attempted to stab Ezio, he would turn around and force the stalker's blade into their throat, killing them in the process.
Trivia
- An appearance of a stalker is indicated by a white knife on the mini-map, ambient whispering noise and a change in the background music.
- The player needs to kill (or counter) five stalkers before they stab Ezio in order to complete the second part of the Romanies challenge.
- If Ezio turns around just before a stalker gets close enough to stab him, Ezio will forcefully push the stalker backwards and send him flying onto the floor. This does not kill the stalker, however, and they will flee if Ezio does not finish them.
- Killing a stalker reduces Templar Awareness by 25%.
- Ottoman guards will chase down stalkers if they witness them assaulting Ezio.
- If Ezio were to be stabbed by a stalker then Ezio will go into the stun animation from Multiplayer.
