- ―Official Playstation Magazine's description of the Rope Dart.

The Rope Dart was a long-ranged weapon used by the Assassin Connor Kenway during the American Revolutionary War. It could be thrown down from above to impale enemies, before being reeled back in to be used again.
It consisted of a long rope, 3–5 meters long, with a metal dart attached to the end. The dart was thrown with the opposite end of the rope anchored to some object, or held in one's free hand. Once the dart
struck the target, the rope could be used to reel the weapon back to the user.
Trivia
- The art of wielding a rope dart is called Sheng Biao in Chinese martial arts.
- According to an XboxGameZone article, Connor's long-range weapon was originally a "Chain Blade", though the concept was replaced with the rope dart for the sake of realism.
