Oksana Razin was a Cossack from Odessa and a member of the Templar Order.
After she was spurred into military service by the threat of Ottomans encroaching on her homeland, Oksana was approached by the Templars with offers of wealth and power, in exchange for her loyalty, as she had spent many years of faithful service as a scout and a spy.
With the Templars viewing her experience as a desirable quality, and seeing it as an opportunity to strike at the heart of the Ottoman Empire, she gladly accepted.
In 2012, her genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the Templar company Abstergo Industries, for the training of their Animus recruits, under the title of the Vanguard.
Trivia
- Oksana is a Ukrainian variant of the name Xenia, Greek for "hospitality". Razin is an Arabic name with the meanings "composed, calm, polite".
