Nomura Village was a village in northeastern Ōmi, Japan.
History[edit | edit source]
In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke visited the village to track down a corrupt daikan, Gamo Morinari, at the request of Kuma, Lady Oichi's personal bodyguard. There, they saw Morinari taunting and stealing from his constiuents before they intervened and assassinated him. They then acquired the katana Widower's Solace from his personal effects before leaving.[1]
