Munychia is a hill in Piraeus where an ancient Greek fort was located.

In 403 BCE, it was the site of the Battle of Munychia, fought between the pro-Spartan obligarchy led by the Thirty Tyrants in Athens and the Athenian exiles led by Thrasybulus. The exiles took the fort with aid from the misthios Kassandra and later defended it against the Spartans led by Critias. The battle was won when Kassandra fought and killed Critias near the hill.[1]
