The Marianne was a ship captained by the Assassin and pirate Samuel Bellamy, later given to his quartermaster, Paulsgrave Williams.

History[edit | edit source]

After Bellamy and Williams double-crossed Henry Jennings, the pair caught up with Benjamin Hornigold west of Cuba. Their intention was to sail with his fleet and exploit the enmity between Hornigold and Jennings to claim Hornigold's protection. Upon meeting him, Hornigold made him captain of the newly captured Marianne, thus creating one of the most successful pirate crews ever to sail the seas.[1] After Bellamy captured the Sultana and made it his flagship, he handed control of the Marianne to Williams.[2]
