===Templar Beginnings===
John Pitcairn was part the Templar Order in 1754 while serving in the British Army under the command Commander Amherst, however he abandoned his post and stationed himself at [[Southgate Fort]] in order to be recruited by Templar Grandmaster [[Haytham Kenway]]. Pitcairn was caught by  General [[Edward Braddock]] who charged him of desertion and escorted him to be executed for treason. Pitcairn attempted to reason with Braddock but was soon after rescued by Kenway and [[Charles Lee]].
Pitcairn took part in the infiltration Southgate Fort and months later assisted in assassinating Braddock. This allowed Haytham to gain information and locate the mysterious [[Grand Temple|"Precursor Site"]], though Haytham decided to abandon further pursuit and chose to focus on expanding Templar power and influence throughout the colonies. Pitcairn remained in British Army and during the years strengthened his reputation, career and earned the rank of Major in 1771.
===The Colonial Resistance===
In 1775 the British Colonists struggled against the British Empire's rule, escalating to the point of armed conflict. Pitcairn was sent to end the rebellion by marching his armies to Concord and Lexington to seize the rebel weapons and supplies. He was also ordered to arrest the rebel leaders, [[Samuel Adams]] and [[John Hancock]], in order to negotiate and peacefully settle the rebellion. However both sides opened fire and Pitcairn's troops were eventually forced to retreat back to Boston after heavy losses at Concord.
The continued conflict delayed Pitcairn's chances of negotiating a truce. The Continental Army soon after led an assault on Boston, with Pitcairn remaining in city with protection of cannon fire from naval ships. This kept the advancing army at bay on Bunker Hill, however [[Ratonhnhaké:ton|Connor]], an assassin, was able to sabotage and destroy the ships.

Pitcairn was forced to the camp on Moulton Hill. This allowed Connor a chance to get close to Pitcairn. Connor circled around the battlefield, avoiding the British forces, infiltrated the camp without detection and finally assassinated Pitcairn.
==Personality and Characteristics==
Pitcairn was a keen soldier and strategist from years of experience and service in the British Marine Corps. Pitcairn also had strong leadership qualities and charisma, as a result, he was well liked by his troops and even respected by his enemies. This earned Pitcairn's reputation as a peacekeeper, hence was sent to peacefully settle the Colonist rebellion, Pitcairn insisted to his men not fire unless fired open. Similar to [[William Johnson]], Pitcairn had a genuine concern for the lives of his enemies and desired to settle the conflict with few casualties. Despite this slight side of benevolence, Pitcairn did not hesitate to resort to the use of force in order to serve the Templar Order and ultimately to oppress and control.
