Jean de Dunois (23 November 1402 – 24 November 1468), famously known as the Bastard of Orléans, was the illegitimate son of Louis I, Duke of Orléans and an ally of Jeanne d'Arc during the Hundred Years' War.

Biography

On 12 February 1429, during the Battle of the Herrings, de Dunois and the French army lost against the English general John Fastolf, the viscount barely escaped with his life.[1]
