The House of Bourbon is a European dynasty of French origin. The Bourbon ruled France and Navarre, and a branch of the house ruled places such as Spain and Naples.
Famously, the Bourbon were in power in France when the French Revolution took place, and their monarchy was abolished in 1792 with the proclamation of the republic.[1] After Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated, the House of Bourbon was restored as the royal house of France, and Louis XVIII of France took the throne as the constitutional monarch.[2]
