Heika of Friesland (died 870s), also known as The Sickle, was a Frisian member of Order of the Ancients, holding the rank of title of Palatinus in the Wardens of Faith sect during the 9th century. She worked as a baker in the market of Colcestre in Essexe within the Kingdom of Wessex.

Biography

Growing near the waters of Friesland, Heika became quite wise about the deadly inflictions of the weever fish. Later, Heika, with the guidance of the Order, began a bakery of her own means. However, Heika had certain bread slices, seasoned with Weever fish scales, given to customers the Order wanted dead.[1] Becoming a part of the English branch of the Order, Heika was based in the city of Colcestre in Essexe, running a bakery shop near the markets while using the Maeldun's Saltern Camp to obtain her supply of weever fish.[2]

In the 870s, Heika membership within the Order was uncovered by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan, who was working on behalf of the Hidden One Hytham to rid England of the Order. Eivor recovered clues of her identity after killing the Zealot Woden, who carried a note which revealed Heika's use of the saltern camp for her supply of fish. Within the warehouse, Eivor further uncovered Heika's location and occupation as a baker near the markets, enabling the shieldmaiden to track down and assassinate her, ending her poisonous business.[2]
