The heavy sheath was a weapon scabbard that could contain either medium or heavy weapons, including two-handed swords and axes obtained from guards or those bought from blacksmiths. The sheath could be purchased from tailors for 8,250 florins in Italy,[1] or for 9,488 akçe in Constantinople.[2]
