Giovanni Auditore da Firenze is the father of Ezio Auditore da Firenze. He's a nobleman, working as a banker for the Medicis, but his true face is the one of an Assassin. He was raised and trained along with his brother Mario as an Assassin, and has been aware of the Templars for almost all his life. He also knows his son's power: the Eagle Vision. Giovanni is the main character of the three Assassin's Creed world-based short films: Assassin's Creed: Lineage. Beside his brother, he has a wife, Maria Auditore, three sons (Ezio, Federico and Petruccio) and a daughter Claudia. He is portrayed by Romano Orzari.

- Curiously enough, Giovanni's ring finger is not cut off even though the improved hidden blade was made after his death. Although, it was possible that instead of getting the ring finger cut off, the hand could tilt back when the blade was released, causing no contact
