Edward Teach (c. 1680 – 1718), more commonly known by the alias Blackbeard, was an infamous pirate captain who sailed the West Indies and the American Colonies during the early 18th century, on the ship named Queen Anne's Revenge.

He was allegedly born in Bristol, in the south-west England, near the city's old harbour [1]

Teach met his fate in May 1718 at the hands of Robert Maynard and his Privateer crew.
