Charles VII (22 February 1403 – 22 July 1461) was King of France from 1428 during the Hundred Years' War.
Due to his mother, Queen Isabeau of Bavaria, being rumored to have lovers, his legitimacy to the throne became questioned, especially by the English and Burgundians. As the fourth in line to the throne, he never expected to become king and became insecure about it.[1]
