Bjarte was a Norseman who lived in England with his wife during the 9th century.
Biography
A resident of the village Grimsby in Lincolnscire, Bjarte suffered from narcolepsy, which caused him to fall asleep at inopportune times at random locations. As this had happened several times already, he always carried a note on his person asking the finder to bring him back home. While passing through the village, Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan found Bjarte asleep at some ruins south of Grimsby. After reading the note, she decided to bring him back home to his wife.[1]
