The Crimson's Edge was a ōdachi that belonged to the renown swordsmaster and teacher Kamiizumi Nobutsuna. Amongst his most prized possessions, Nobutsuna lost the sword during a duel to his former student Sanada Masatoyo, who sought to use it to gain favor with Oda Nobunaga. However, Nobutsuna's new student Diogo defeated Masatoyo's students in a duel of death, who subsequently returned it to his teacher.[1]
Nobutsuna kept it with him until 1582, when he intended to present it to Yasuke after he had defeat his former students and prove himself as the champion of his Shinkage-ryū.
