Beorhtsige

Beorhtsige (died 870s), also known as the Joy-Canker, was an Order of the Ancients Zealot who operated in Anglo-Saxon England during the 9th century.

A loyal friend of the Order Preost Eanbhert, otherwise known by his cryptonym as The Vellum, Beorhtsige operated in Glowecestrescire and was later hunted by the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan.[1]

Behind the scenes

Despite Beorhtsige being stated as of Norse origin, his name is actually derived from the Old English elements beorht meaning "bright" and sige meaning "victory".
