Eivor within Wiccan's Cave

Wiccan's Cave was a cave inhabited by Picts, who used it as a passage through the mountains, in Eurvicscire, England

History[edit | edit source]

In 876, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan followed Faravid and his men to Wiccan's Cave in their pursuit of a group of Picts. Faravid insisted that Eivor enter first and look ahead for any Picts or passage. Through the twists and turns, she came across two Pict warriors having a conversation about their base at Stenwege Camp. She then killed the scouts and looted a note from one of them which detailed that the Picts were receiving help from an unknown party.[1]

Afterwards, Eivor found her way out and met with Faravid on the other side. Speaking with Faravid, she divulged the camp's name and Faravid deduced that their chief may be in its vicinity. During their conversation, a eavesdropping Pict warrior broke cover and ran back to his camp. Faravid asked Eivor to hunt down the scout before he made it to Stenwege.[1]

Throughout her travels, Eivor further investigated Wiccan's Cave and found another structure locked off. In front of this structure, she read a stone slab about "The Crock and the Dish of Rhygenydd the Cleric". Upon probing the area even further, Eivor found and collected a tablet engraved with the crook and dish.[2]
