Thiebault Laxart[1] (c. 1429 – c. 1520s) was the son of Durand and Jeanne Laxart, as well as the half-brother of Gabriel.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Early life[edit | edit source]
Born in Burey-en-Vaux during the Winter of 1428-1429, when Durand was away in Vaucouleurs with his elder son Gabriel and niece Jeanne d'Arc, in order to see Robert de Baudricourt. However, Gabriel later sent him home to see his newly born son while he and Jeanne stayed in Vaucouleurs.[2]
Later life[edit | edit source]
Thiebault would grow up to marry a woman named Didon, and have a daughter, Nicole. He was later declared a noble by the Bailiff of Chaumont on 27 January 1525.[3]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Thiebault Laxart is a historically attested figure and character indirectly mentioned in the 2016 novel, Assassin's Creed: Heresy written by Christie Golden. He is only referred to in the passage; "Durand Laxart, at his son's suggestion, had gone back to Burey-en-Vaux to be with his wife and new baby." His name has also alternatively been recorded as Thibaut Lassois.[1]
