Description
Massive spear equipped by Ptolemaic guards. The Macedonian army used this weapon's long-range capabilities to get the drop on opposing forces.

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The model of the Sarissa, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, was recycled as the model of the Battle Spear, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and its kind.

Historically, the sarissa was a predecessor of the pike rather than a spear, with a length ranging from 5 to 7 meters (16 to 23 feet), which would make it unwieldy and useless in individual combat.
