Salt Lagoon

Salt Lagoon is an island in the southernmost part of the Bahamas, located in the Gibara region of the West Indies.

The island is surrounded by a sandy beach and consists of ferns, deer, palm trees, shrubs, and small to medium-sized rock formations. One of the palm trees on the island acts as a viewpoint.

History[edit | edit source]

Sometime in the early eighteenth century, the pirate Edward Kenway visited Salt Lagoon to find a buried treasure chest.[1] He and Adéwalé also met there once with fellow pirates Edward Thatch and James Kidd to discuss the growing pirate republic in Nassau and how to defend it.[2] Edward later returned to complete an assassination contract on a Spanish deserter.[3]
