Piombino is a coastal town in Tuscany, Italy.

During the Renaissance, the town was conquered by Cesare Borgia, who plundered its treasures and loaded them onto its ships. The town's exiled ruler, Iacopo IV Appiani, requested the Assassins' help, and a team led by Francesco Vecellio came to sink the ships and recover some of his money.[1] Cesare's Assassin, Micheletto Corella, once a governor of Piombino.[2][3]
