Animus Project Update 2.0 is the second downloadable content pack for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, focusing on the game's multiplayer mode. It is free, and became available on 19 January 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; it later became available to PC on 17 March, as part of the update that accompanied The Da Vinci Disappearance. The Animus Project's second update includes an Animi training map, the hill-top village Pienza, and a new training mode, Chest Capture.

Chest Capture is a variation on the Capture the Flag mode, where players are tasked with stealing treasure chests from the opposing team, while protecting their own; one team takes on the role of chest hunters and the other as the protectors. The hunters enter a chest's area to capture it and earn points, while the protectors must kill the hunters to earn points, based on the quality of the assassination.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The addition of a second multiplayer downloadable content included restrictions, allowing only one of the two free content packs to be enabled. Due to this feature, Chest Capture could not be played on Mont Saint-Michel until the release of the Animus Project Update 3.0.
