Lackanscaul was a megalithic structure in southwestern Connacht, Ireland. Between 879 and 882, Lackanscaul served as a druidic ritual site by the cult known as the Children of Danu.
History[edit | edit source]
In the late 9th century, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir and Ciara ingen Medba tracked a púca to find the Child of Danu known only as "The Cursed." From their investigation, Eivor and Ciara came across The Cursed's ritual and entered the ceremony. Upon their entrance, Eivor and Ciara fought with The Cursed and her acolytes. The Cursed was revealed to be a High Druid named Sétnae, who cursed Ciara for leaving the cult before succumbing to her wounds. From The Cursed's personal effects, Eivor received her amber shard and two more clues about "The Oak" and "The Deer."[1] Eivor also found and claimed the Ceremonial Sickle from a treasure chest at the site.[2]
