Hero's Sword

The Hero's Sword was a legendary sword which belonged to the Greek woman Leda, the daughter of Barnabas and Leda, during the 5th century BCE.

Following the reunion of the father and daughter, the Spartan misthios Kassandra obtained the sword as thanks for helping Leda deal with her suitors Antikles and Pelenos.[1]

A copy of the sword is used by the imposter Eagle Bearer in his attempts to ruin Kassandra's reputation.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Hero's Sword featured heavily in pre-release promotional material for Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, but it could not be found prior to the release of "A Friend Worth Dying For". The Hero's Sword was obtainable in the E3 2018 demo version, but had a rarity of Common instead of Legendary.[3]

A bug caused the the Hero's Sword to be duplicated upon stashing it in the storage on the Adrestia, saving the game, quitting, and reloading.[4] This bug was fixed in the 1.5.0 patch.[5]

As seems to often be the case in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Leda is still shown carrying the blade even after Kassandra receives it as reward. The same also happens with Deimos and the Sword of Damokles if he's recruited aboard the Adrestia, and with Darius and the Pride of the Lion.
