Gudrun was a Norse shipwright who lived in Ravensthorpe with her husband Gudmund and daughter Eira. Her family accompanied Sigurd Styrbjornsson, Eivor Varinsdottir and numerous members of the Raven Clan to England to escape the rule of King Harald Fairhair. Within the settlement, Gudrun and Gudmund ran a shipyard that provided services to the Sea-Chariot, the personal longship owned by Eivor.[1] Her daughter was Eira.[2]
