That year, fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe was tasked by the priest Shin'nyo with eliminating eight kabukimono leaders, including one known as Ember. She tracked him down to the Temple of Osaka in Izumi Settsu, where she assassinated him, retrieving the firearm from his personal effects, which she would later pass on to Yasuke.[1]
