==Forum problem==
Helloooooo. I've been wondering. Is the Pioneer the woman in pink or the guy with ragged clothes. I was also watching some vidoes of the Multiplayer and there are other characters like the Lookout, Mole and Spy. It's also common that they all use bayonets, which kind of act like spears, lol. Please reply, thanks. [[User:TemplarAgent|TemplarAgent]] ([[User talk:TemplarAgent|talk]]) 22:58, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
Vesper, a user named [[User:JackDick|JackDick]] recently created a forum, as you may have noticed, [Forum:Ratohnhaketon_and_TWCB|Here.]] I tried to put the content, which was above the line, to the bottom, but for some reason the forum header doesn't move downwards. Any ideas? <span style="font-family:Kristen ITC;font-size:25px;color:(Color);">[[User:Altaïr Skywalker 47|Altaïr Skywalker 47]]</span><span style="font-family:Copper;font-size:(Size)px;color:#FF0000;">[[User_talk:Altaïr Skywalker 47|Agency Laptop]]</span> 01:21, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Given what I've seen from the video description, and going from what the Footpad was like, I'd expect the Robber to be the young looking guy with the blonde hair, and the Pioneer to be the woman with the rifle.
The forum header shouldn't move downwards. The page should be alright now. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 01:26, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Considering that there's been no info depicting the Mole, Decoy, Lookout and Spy as little more that non-player characters (NPCs) for the [[Wolfpack]] mode, I don't think they'd need their own pages. It would be best, I feel, to put any information there, unless we get some evidence that we can play as them. I'm really sorry. I used the "Public Domain" template because one of the first concept arts I posted (done by the same person), it got edited. I wasn't sure what template I should give it, but I went with either the 'Screenshot' or 'Cc-by-sa-3.0' one. Someone later changed it into the Public Domain one, and I found it fit better so I used it from then on for all the concept arts I've uploaded of that person.

Well If found someone playing as a person in blue, but I don't remember which is which, lol. [[User:TemplarAgent|http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIYKL59NcK8]] @ 1:24 [[User:TemplarAgent|TemplarAgent]] ([[User talk:TemplarAgent|talk]]) 23:37, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
Oh shit, I really should've put something in the attention part. I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking straight. Is it even okay if these are uploaded? The concept artist, Borislav Mitkov, posted the concept arts in multiple places, among which was cghub, a place where previous concept artists of the multiplayer portion have posted their work, such as Antoine Rol and Anais Bernabé. Maybe I shouldn't have made their backgrounds transparent, but I thought it was okay to put up his work here. Isn't his work property of Ubisoft? [[User:Crookandcharlatan|Crookandcharlatan]] ([[User talk:Crookandcharlatan|talk]]) 10:02, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Well, I'm not quite sure about the Spy now, since it looked like there was a kill with a rifle with a guy in blue (as you've said) that looked similar. For the time being though, let's wait for more information. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 23:45, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
Stop panicking. All you would need to do is ask the artist's permission and make sure to use Screenshots or Cc-by-sa-3.0 next time.

== 'nor' vs 'or' ==
And yes, it would be Ubisoft property, since they are designs for one of their games, which they employed the artist for. Their IP, so any production material like artistic designs belongs to them. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 18:01, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Um pardon? But 'neither' is accompanied by 'nor' as to signify that both opts mentioned are not as the context. 'Or' is for 'either' to say that both is as the context mentioned. [[User:Sanguinoraptor|''Sanguinoraptor'']] the ''Blood Thief''. [[User talk:Sanguinoraptor|Roar at]]. 12:50, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
:Sorry for freaking out. If it is Ubisoft's property, then there isn't a problem with it being on the Wiki, right? Or am I mixing up things? I'm just a bit confused by the 'asking for the artist's permission', I can't fathom the people of the Wiki doing that for every artist that's worked for Ubisoft. Maybe I'm seeing it a bit too simplistic, but I thought anything that belonged to Ubisoft, aka the artists' work, would be okay to post here, as long as it's properly sourced. Am I wrong in thinking that? Is there a more complex procedure that I've somehow missed?

==Revamp Animi Avatars Pages==
Hey there, Slate

If I may say, I am totally on your side, IlMualim. [[User:The Leaping Eagle|The Leaping Eagle]] ([[User talk:The Leaping Eagle|talk]]) 21:44, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
So, there's been a "Revamp template" hovering atop the [[Animi Avatars (Brotherhood)]] page for quite some time, and I'd like to try my hand at fixing it up. I'd like to try it by myself, since I tend to shy away from revamps and I'd like to get better at it, but if you want to participate, I don't really have the right to say you can't. I'd like to ask you something though, since you're the most multiplayer-oriented admin (also, GI recommended you): when do I utilize "primary/secondary" stage and when do I utilize "first/second" stage? (cause the article titles themselves are quite OOU)

You don't need to put them in brackets with "English" next to it. You can simply put the other version in some commas and bold it.
Thanks in advance ^^ [[User:Crookandcharlatan|Crookandcharlatan]] ([[User talk:Crookandcharlatan|talk]]) 16:09, August 23, 2013 (UTC)

When it comes to Bartolomeo's quarters, there's little point translating it since the article says that it's his quarters right after the Italian name. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 22:30, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
Primary/secondary/tertiary/quaternary are for the categories, because Abstergo are linked throughout all the renditions of the multiplayer, so they must have some plans behind it all.

That's a good point, actually. But I'm sure there's some fool who has no idea what it translates to, and don't we strive to give as much info as possible? [[User:The Leaping Eagle|The Leaping Eagle]] ([[User talk:The Leaping Eagle|talk]]) 22:38, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
For the in-article context, first stage is Brotherhood, second stage for Revelations, and console stage is for AC3 currently, with Black Flag probably being the second console stage. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 17:37, August 23, 2013 (UTC)

It's not a great leap of the imagination to figure out what it's supposed to mean, and for more complex translations, their English version will be bolded afterwards. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 22:40, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
==Some MediaWiki:Common.js coding please==
Hello <s>Stormbeast</s>Slate,

No, it doesn't take that much intelligence. :D You are a more accomlished editor than I am, so you may be right. If you think that it's unnecessary, fair enough. [[User:The Leaping Eagle|The Leaping Eagle]] ([[User talk:The Leaping Eagle|talk]]) 22:49, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
Could you do me a favour and add this coding to [[MediaWiki:Common.js]]
<pre>$(function () {
    if (wgUserName) {
        $('.username-replace').text(wgUserName);
    }
});</pre>
This will make my template Template:username|Username]]}} work, showing the username of the person who visits the page.

K, you have a point. You don't need to be a genius to figure out Quartier means quarters (or more technically headquarters). -- [[User:IlMualim|<span style="font-family:Brush Script MT;font-size:20px;color:#008000;">'''IlMualim'''</span>]] [[User Talk:IlMualim|<span style="font-family:Forte;font-size:10px;color:#8B0000">Wanna Chat?</span>]] 02:53, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

== Multiplayer taunts ==

Ah, sorry about that. You could always go back a page and copy out what you typed, and then paste it back in afterwards. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 00:52, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
Hi, Slate, I has a multiplayer-related question :x

I tried that, now I having problems copying and pasting things on the page. I can't copy things on Assassin's Creed Wiki now.
I've spent a bit of my time (a little too much actually) listening and listing the multiplayer taunts from ACR. And based on what I found, I concluded that multiplayer characters have seven available taunts: selecting one of the three taunts in the character customization screen gives you two taunts the character can use when a target/civillian is selected (e.g. the Corsair's third taunt "Fear my revenge" has the additional "Buon viaggio" taunt). So altogether that would add up to six, with one taunt left for when the character stuns a pursuer.

[[User:CreedOfAll|CreedOfAll]] ([[User talk:CreedOfAll|talk]]) 01:18, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
However, I've run into an issue; there's a blog on tumblr called "allsoundsasscreed", which records and uploads soundtracks, dialogue and vocal clips. And for one of the characters, there's an eighth taunt that I can't seem to trigger, or at least, I don't know how. The character in question is the Guardian, of which I managed to trigger the following seven taunts this afternoon:
*"Out of my way!" (taunt #1)
*"Beg my forgiveness!" (taunt #2)
*"Clumsy ape!" (taunt #3)
*"Behold!" (additional taunt accompanying taunt #1)
*"I fear no man." (additional taunt accompanying taunt #2)
*"Face me!" (additional taunt accompanying taunt #3)
*"I don't have time for this." (taunt after stunning a pursuer)
And then there's this one: http://allsoundsasscreed.tumblr.com/post/17704495912/you-have-sullied-my-blade-the-guardian-odai

At the top of the editor, there should be two options, "Source" and "Visual". I would advise you to use Source, since it allows you to copy and paste things in easier (without needing to use Ctrl functions). [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 01:34, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
I know it's a very trivial issue, but I've always liked the taunts and I believe they add character to the Animi Avatars ^^; Anyway, I was just hoping you might know how I can trigger that last taunt. I've updated a few articles so far with the taunts I heard myself, and simultaneously reworded those animations (I hope you don't mind), added in little tidbits for the clothes (the Guardian was very bare when it come to customization description :|) and removed images that are kind of out of date. I've gone through the history of some of those articles, which was kind of amusing sometimes; I feel we are approaching the construction of Animi Avatar articles better this time around :) That is all, apologies for this absurdly long post ^^; [[User:Crookandcharlatan|Crookandcharlatan]] ([[User talk:Crookandcharlatan|talk]]) 19:15, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you![[User:CreedOfAll|CreedOfAll]] ([[User talk:CreedOfAll|talk]]) 03:46, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
:I wouldn't quite know how to trigger the eight taunt, as I was working under the same assumption that you have been (kills x2, stuns x1 for a total of 7). Perhaps it's for when you escape someone?

== Query ==
:Also, you've been doing a great job on the MP pages so far. I'll give them a little once over and fix anything if it needs it, but I'm happy with your progress so far. :D [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 19:28, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Slate,
== Assassin's Creed Initiates ==

Excuse me, I see you erased the Assassin's Creed Initiates article I had written with another version, possibly yours. I don't mind, but you should add the various sections of the website, considering Initiates isn't simply a tracking website.[[Utente:Valtekken|Val]][[Discussioni_Utente:Valtekken|Tekken]] 15:39, September 2, 2012 (UTC)

While that may be true, there is a link to the website at the bottom of the page, and to be quite honest, it's not like we need to mention that it has a shop and forums. I do suppose labelling it as a community-oriented website would be sufficient however. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 15:42, September 2, 2012 (UTC)
So, don't jump to conclusions because of that title :P Alty recommended certain people for mentoring (since I recently applied for the Apprenticeship Program), and one of them was you. I had a check and you weren't listed in the Mentor's lounge, but I asked on the IRC and AnimusRadiation replied you were in fact a mentor. So I'm here to ask you, on the advice of Sima, why you're not listed there. It's just me being curious, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to :) [[User:Crookandcharlatan|Crookandcharlatan]] ([[User talk:Crookandcharlatan|talk]]) 11:38, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, then. Still think at least a "Forums" section is needed. And yes, the second version of the article was mine. I had modified it 51 minutes ago, and you modified it later, 36 minutes ago. I don't mind, but I think I'll stop writing articles, though.[[Utente:Valtekken|Val]][[Discussioni_Utente:Valtekken|Tekken]] 15:49, September 2, 2012 (UTC)
:Like all Staff members, I can choose to be a Mentor to an Apprentice if I wish. I haven't elected to be one though because I don't think I'd be able to give out assignments and evaluate the changes to them as well as other Mentors, and since the Apprenticeship Program serves to help both the Apprentice's editing skills and the quality of the Wiki, for the latter part, I may not be getting the best revamps out of an Apprentice because of my judgement abilities.

I wouldn't be discouraged from writing articles. The Wiki appreciates those that are driven on expanding the knowledge of the Assassin's Creed series, but it's also open-source for those who refine that for others' benefit, so that's why I edited a better version in, courtesy of our user [[User:Gabriel Auditore|Gabriel Auditore]].

==IU weapons categories==
Hey there, Slate, it's good ol' Crim here. I was wondering if you've made any decisions about IU weapons categories like American Revolution weapons? Because I'm just about to categorise weapons by what type they are (short blades, et al.) and I thought it would make sense to get both done at once. --{{User:The Crimson Eagle/sig}} 15:09, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I can render it now, knowing where the original source is. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 01:16, September 3, 2012 (UTC)
It all depends on what we'd name ACB and ACR weapons. I have Third Crusade weapons and Italian Renaissance weapons in mind for AC and AC2, but whether or not "Liberation of Rome weapons" and "Ottoman Renaissance/Empire weapons" would fit for Brotherhood and Revelations. AC4 can have Golden Age of Piracy weapons. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 20:03, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

==MP question==
:They both seem fine to me. The only one I have small doubts for is "Liberation of Rome weapons", but I'm not sure if there are many alternatives. I shall muse over this. --{{User:The Crimson Eagle/sig}} 20:17, September 9, 2013 (UTC)
I have another question. Since the ACR MP, the characters are more diverse, with their own voices in taunting, yelling/screaming when getting killed and moaning/groaning when dazed by a contested kill. And I was thinking, do they have their own voice actors or are just made on computer or something, lol. [[User:TemplarAgent|TemplarAgent]] ([[User talk:TemplarAgent|talk]]) 01:02, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

:Do you know how hard it would be to replicate a realistic human voice on a computer?
I brought the subject up on the IRC, and Sima suggested that we adopt this method:
*"15th century weapons" for ''AC2''
*"16th century weapons" for ''ACB'' and ''ACR''
*"18th century weapons" for ''AC3'', ''AC4'', and ''AC3L''
And I'm assuming we can use "12th century weapons" for what little ''AC'' weapons we have. I'm cool with whatever we decide, in all honesty, but I just thought I'd let you know. --{{User:The Crimson Eagle/sig}} 20:35, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

:Yes, they use voice actors. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 01:04, September 3, 2012 (UTC)
:That's alright in some respect, but I'd rather that weapon pages for more than one game don't merge under one category, since it may confuse someone looking for AC3's weapons into thinking they can get something from AC3L or AC4 in their game. That's why I've chosen to make them specific to the main event that each game covers, considering that future titles can always occur in the 12th century or similar times. Hello Slate Vesper,

Remove the code when you're done, and congratulations once more; you and Kal truly deserve the Staff position. =) {{User:Gabriel Auditore/sig}} 14:22, September 3, 2012 (UTC)
If possible, I would like to discuss with you, why I have been given a warning, I understand that originally, I was edit warring but it was my impression that an agreement had been put into place, the page would read Welsh, but upon clicking the hyperlink, the user would be directed towards the United Kingdom page, if that is no longer the case, please let me know but this was agreed upon by admins. As for my warning, is there anyway of getting this revoked, I was only doing what I thought Alientraveller and I agreed upon, obviously not realising it would get me into trouble with admins.

Wow seems there are two newly promoted staffs here... I'd like to say congrats to both of you. And happy editing... {{User:Answeration/sig}}
Thank you,

Thanks very much the two of you, it's really appreciated. Also, if it's okay Gabe, can I make a page for this so I can shorten down the code needed, or would you prefer me to keep the code private?

:I gave you a warning because calling Edward Kenway "Welsh" was not fully agreed upon, and so to settle the matter, I made an edit stating that he was "born in Wales" in the second paragraph of his page to accomodate his heritage while still allowing "British" to remain. However, you still continued to swap British for Welsh, even after everything should have been sorted.

Hey Slate; it's "make sure there's no survivor" as in "make sure there ''is'' no survivor." I know "there are no survivors" sounds better, but technically, Ubi is grammatically correct here and we should stick to what they've written (since it's error free). No offense intended mate =) {{User:Gabriel Auditore/sig}} 10:27, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

Ubisoft are not grammatically error free, and we should not expect them to be. So if that means fixing a tiny spelling error on the wiki, even if Ubisoft was the one to make it, I don't see the harm in it.

"Make sure there ''is'' no survivors"? I'm aware that Ubisoft aren't grammatically error free, but could you just go over the sentence again? I know it's kind of trivial, but it kind of feels like we're fixing something that isn't broken. {{User:Gabriel Auditore/sig}} 10:36, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
:I believe it is because the comic was released last November in French, but its English and other language prints are coming this November 16. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 23:21, September 29, 2013 (UTC)

When you're asking if there are any survivors, you wouldn't use a singular term, because then there'd be little point in asking if you were aware there was only one. Also, in this case, "there's" is grammatically correct, even if the longer version makes less sense. Personally, I don't get why "there's" suits better than "they're" in the event of a plural usage, given the reasoning behind it, but it just works better grammatically I suppose. ==England's article changes==
I am so lucky. [[User:Sidspyker|Sidspyker]] ([[User talk:Sidspyker|talk]]) 09:41, October 27, 2013 (UTC)
I don't see why the edits I was making were "unneeded" or warranted undoing. The first edit I made was to change the expression "constituent of the modern united kingdom" to "constituent country" to clarify what "constituent" meant. By referring to England as a constituent of the UK, it is unclear what it actually is - is it a constituent province? Is it actually a country? Is it just Britain with another name? Constituent country is also the official term used for England, Scotland and Wales.

The second edit I made was to change "British Parliament" to "English Parliament", a correction of something that is incorrect.This is because there was no British parliament during the English Civil War - England and Scotland both had their own parliaments right up until 1707, well after the war had ended. It could be argued that Cromwell's efforts were the progenitor to the creation of Great Britain, but he was clear in naming his new state the Protectorate of England, not Britain, UK etc. Even though his institutions were British in function they were English in name and intent.

== MP Kill animations ==

I don't mind you changing it to British Parliament, but you could have stated exactly why in the article summary, it would have made it easier.
Hey Slate!

However, England is referred to as a "country" earlier in the opening paragraph, so "constituent country" sounds out of place. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 17:10, September 18, 2012 (UTC)
So, I don't know if you've played the multiplayer so far, but I'm sure you've seen footage, so you'll probably have noticed that there's been a change in how the kill animations are triggered. In fact, it seems Ubisoft has done away with the distinction of "low profile" and high profile". There's still the silent kills of course, which use the silent weapons, but as for the main weapons...

== Staff Avatar ==
I can't say this for every weapon, because I haven't played that much yet, but every type seems to have six kill animations (I can confirm this for at least the Dagger and the Small Axe) that are used when the meter is below "silent" (or whatever the ACIV equivalent is), there's no distinction between running or walking. Four of those are like the default ones we've seen before, and then two that are exclusive to the character. Here's an example for the Rebel:

[http://gabrielauditore.deviantart.com/art/SlateAvatar-329158192 Here] you will find a little something you might like. Flip it horizontally if you feel it looks cooler; and let me know if you need any changes made to it. Hope you like it! =) {{User:Gabriel Auditore/sig}} 19:23, September 25, 2012 (UTC)
* 2 axe kills originate from ACR, they are the default ones used for a character that is below silent and is walking, so they're identical to the first two described on, for example, the Vanguard's page.
* 2 axe kills originate from ACIII, they are the ones used for a character that is below silent and is running. There's no description for these on any of our articles yet.
* 2 axe kills originate from the Independent; they are the Rebel's unique kill animations and she's the only one who can perform them in ACIV. I'm assuming the four above can be performed by any character equipped with an axe.

I do like. I like very much. Thank you so much for this Gabe, I'll be sure to show it off. :D [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 20:21, September 25, 2012 (UTC)
So, how will we list these now in the articles for the Multiplayer characters? ^^; Would love your input on this. {{User:Crookandcharlatan/sig}} 10:56, November 3, 2013 (UTC)

== A question ==
:I would call the walking animations "Low Profile" as usual, since they're stock animations, the High Profile stock animations as "High Profile" and the character specific ones as "Personal High Profile" or something similar, in order to set them apart from the standard ones.

Hi Slate. About a week ago, I was looking through the pictures on each of the ACIII MP characters' pages, and on the one on the Pioneer's page ([[http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/File:Assassin-sCreedIII_Pioneer_.jpg%7CHere is the picture in question]]), and I noticed that I don't recognize the person to her right who's assassinating the other NPC. I had left a comment on the talk page, but I guess nobody saw it, or didn't have anything to say. However, I mentioned it to Nesty the other day, and she directed me to you and said that you were more knowledgeable on the subject, so here I am. There was no merit in doing it. Changing "Kenway's ''Jackdaw''" to "Edward Kenway's ship, ''Jackdaw''", when Edward Kenway had already been specified in the article is just a moot point. ==DLC==

[[User:Molotov.cockroach|Molotov.cockroach]] ([[User talk:Molotov.cockroach|talk]]) 01:49, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

No. The reason I removed that stuff from AC3 DLC is because at this point in time, they're just pre-order content. That means that they only require a code to be input for the characters/memories to be unlocked on disc.
Where is the source that says Oiá:ner was Clan Mother in 1731? There have been other Clan Mothers. -- {{User:Master Sima Yi/sig}} 10:59, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

==Caption boxes==
Is there a particular reason you're removing the caption boxes from those images, leaving us with just a floating picture on each page? --{{Signature/Jasca Ducato}} 22:35, October 17, 2012 (UTC)

The multiplayer character pages refer that they're an Animi Avatar used by Abstergo Industries, and the picture shows them off. I haven't removed the description so that if anyone scrolled over it, they could still see it, but it just seems a waste to render out the background in the pictures for transparency and then have a black box take up what we tried to remove.

I don't object to their "real-world" characters having the caption box, since it could develop into a character infobox, but it seems a bit pointless to have a box that says "This guy is the Robber" when the page and the description refer to them as the Robber, for example. Hi Slate, just though I would [[Forum:Consensus: Full stops (period)|point this out,]] since I noticed you adding full stops at the end of image captions. :Don't argue with you on this? I suggest you grow the hell up and stop trying to act like you're my superior. It looks ''incorrect''; whether you think it looks pretty really doesn't factor into it. I also suggest you stop acting like having the word 'Rafiq' next to your username gives you some sort of moral, or realistic power over anybody else, certainly me. The fact of this particular matter is as follows: a full stop (period) should only be used at the conclusion of a sentence, or for an abbreviation. "Myriam" is not a sentence, so there should be no full stop after it; netierh should there be one after "Maurice", or "Godfrey", or "Robert de Sable", or even after "Desmond Miles to Lucy Stillman".

:Also, for the record, I'll argue with whoever the hell I like. I have done so for the past 25 years, and a single, grammatically incorrect, sentence from you isn't going to change that; thank you for your time. --{{Signature/Jasca Ducato}} 01:21, November 15, 2012 (UTC)
:I've created a FanonItem classification to accomodate your article and another Fanon that already existed.

::No Jasca, I think it's you who needs to grow the hell up. The Wiki is a database of information, but that doesn't mean it should discourage other users from reading it because someone is stuck too much in whether something is "grammatically correct." Just because we oversee a database, it doesn't mean we have to make it convoluted to read for our editors and anyone else, all because it pertains to some policy that ''you'' wrote. No, there isn't a project for Fanons, and I doubt there will be, as we require the author's permission to edit their story. As a Fanon Staff member, I have the ability to add templates, categories and to do some small formatting, but other than that, there's not much I can do without their say. ==Question regarding Achievement==
==Assassin's Creed: Pirates==
Considering that achievements unlocked by the completion of a sequence are present also in Desmond's Journey-entries, I thought it would be in-line to add them to the Lost Archive memories, too. May I ask why do you feel it's not? [[User:Sadelyrate|Sadelyrate]] ([[User talk:Sadelyrate|talk]]) 12:54, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Because if we did that on any other memory articles, we'd end up seeing "Completing this memory awards 'Sequence 5 Complete'" for end of sequence memories, which is quite silly to be fair. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 13:15, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it might end up looking quite silly... but why keep them for Desmond's Journey-entries? [[User:Sadelyrate|Sadelyrate]] ([[User talk:Sadelyrate|talk]]) 13:38, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

==The Mole and the Dot-in-a-Circle==
I'll repeat what I said to '''Lucan07''' earlier, regarding the location of the dot-in-a-circle... In the Lost Archive memory 4, "The Mole", it's not just enough to view the broken circle and the pillar from a certain angle; the only way to get them to align is to stand near where Clay had drawn the Nazca spider, and there play with the angle.

Unless, of course, I'm missing something, and the word 'angle' does contain suggestion of location, too? :) [[User:Sadelyrate|Sadelyrate]] ([[User talk:Sadelyrate|talk]]) 21:54, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

It's not so hard to put together "This symbol looks like it could match with that one. I'll go align them together to see if they make something... Oh, it works!"

The only need to put down the spider as a trivia piece is if you can actually see the spider in the memory, because then it's a directional cue. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 21:57, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

==Maria Thorpe's death==
In Maria Thorpe's page, it says Swami slit her throat to kill her. Yet in Swami's page, it says he stabbed her in the back. I also came to that conclusion when I saw it in the game. So, which is it and what, if anything, should be changed? [[User:KasaiKnight|Kasaix]] ([[User talk:KasaiKnight|talk]]) 13:40, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Just brought this up with Nesty in the IRC, and it's supposed to be Revelations' rendition of the event, instead of what was written in The Secret Crusade. For that reason, it should be stabbed. (That is if I'm not remembering it the opposite way around)

Edit: Turns out the throat slitting takes precedence, since Sima [http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/index.php?title=Maria_Thorpe&diff=416499&oldid=416495 reverted an edit] to that effect. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 18:46, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

I'm tempted to go and add in the word 'confirmed' to the description of the category. As in "all the ''confirmed'' members of the First Civilization". ==Yet another question on fanons==
Hey Slate,
Hey Slate,

If you don't mind my asking, why has my fanon, the Napoleon Conundrum, been moved to the category "Non-Canon"? When did I contradict the existing fiction?[[User:Mentor 006|Mentor 006]] ([[User talk:Mentor 006|talk]]) 16:42, January 29, 2013 (UTC)
So, along with the millions of others things that still need to be done on the Wiki, our AC: Pirates section is looking very bare at the moment. I've been told you have the game? I don't have it myself, but I'd like to help in any way possible - I'd just like to get some work done on this game's lore as well, create some articles and stuff. I'm actually a bit interested in how it ends, considering there's mention of a Fragment of Eden (whether that's an Apple or an entirely different Piece of Eden, I don't know).

I moved it to FanNon-Canon after Chapter 6, where you mention that the events within couldn't be confirmed by AC canon, so I put it there to be safe. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 16:49, January 29, 2013 (UTC)
I've watched a video playthrough by [https://www.youtube.com/user/gocalibergaming/featured some dude] on Youtube, but unfortunately he stopped uploading videos about Pirates a month ago :s So, my knowledge only extends as far as he's played, but I did write down the documents he found and the general plotline, so I suppose that's something? I've also discovered some concept art of Alonzo, La Buse and Jumao.

Oh, well... thank you for answering. [[User:Mentor 006|Mentor 006]] ([[User talk:Mentor 006|talk]]) 17:51, January 29, 2013 (UTC)

:I am absolutely willing to collaborate on Pirates with you, but I'm currently having an issue with the Apple Store having charged me payments accumulating up to roughly £21-22 GBP, yet they haven't actually claimed the money from my Santander account and it's stuck in withholdings, even after roughly 3-4 days. I was told by a bank representative over the local bank's phone that Apple usually retrieve the money after 3 days, but I recall purchasing a song on my phone 1-2 days after (Rather Be - Clean Bandit) and I've received a email receipt for it. Until they claim the money so I can report a problem with it or I find some available time to contact their Support department, I've sworn myself off from playing the game on my iPhone for precaution's sake.

==AC IV==
:It was due to this whole mess that I was led to reset the entire game, which is somewhat convenient for a replay, but from where I was previously, the game is stuck on a cliffhanger pending a future update, which despite the recent additions Ubi made, they did not bother to add more lore.
Hey Slate,

On the Assassin's Creed IV page, it says that the game hasn't been officially announced. However, due to the information released today, wouldn't that previous statement be moot now? Just wondering. Thanks. -[[User:Jjacobmartinn|Jjacobmartinn]] ([[User talk:Jjacobmartinn|talk]]) 05:37, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
:From what I can recall of the Fragment's power, it seems like it has the ability to change one's destiny or something vague like that. As I say, it's from memory, and though I suppose the sequences in the game can be replayed, it costs a scaling amount of supplies to travel between the later locations of the game, and to go back to location one from the "end", it does take a whole lot of grinding or shelling out real cash (that I currently want to avoid).

I suppose so. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 05:55, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
:The whole reason I seem to have accumulated this monetary mess was through my attempts to use cash I wouldn't miss to unlock a coin-based side path with the new update, to further explore the story. It seems however that I've no bang for my buck, and I need to get that locked partition of my available balance back in tow. GameInformer and several other news sites reported that Edward's memories came from William's DNA, retrieved during his captivity. It's as legit as any other thing reported by gaming media. Whether it's true, however, I would not say for 100%; but if we start picking out information that we think is correct based on our own interpretation, then we're not doing our jobs right. -- {{User:Master Sima Yi/sig}} 20:09, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I feel really bad and ignorant that I failed to notice Cooper may be transgender. I'd assumed Cooper's tragic romance was a reference to Scottish-Pakistani tensions (no, I haven't actually seen ''Ae Fond Kiss''). Certainly I now understand "Not one of them [Gavin's crew] has ever looked at me like I was a thing. I'd never experienced that before, ken?" I thought surgeries just meant he was wounded in battle; I certainly didn't intend to whitewash the character. --[[User:Alientraveller|Alientraveller]] ([[User talk:Alientraveller|talk]]) 15:28, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

As was reported by Ubisoft in the past, the story and the story of Desmond has finally reached a conclusion on the third series was released a few months ago and will not return again. So who's the story from the eyes of Edward Kenway time will tell? '''The common thread of the narrative itself will be assembled one analyst Abstergo, who managed to steal and access the memory of the father of Desmond - William Miles before he was rescued from the Templars in AC series before'''. But analysts are not going to play an important role as Desmond, just operate the existing Animus.
==Contest suggestion==
Would you be interested in joining a gaming contest(free) for Assassin's Creed Black Flag? The story is below, and the join link is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Assassins-creed-IV-black-flag-nonprofit-tournaments/515111188601182 If you like it, please promote the contest, I need more players to truly create an enjoyable plot.

The first contest, is to collect steel cubes. This is done by using the share button or screenshot to record your kills, each of which is worth 20 ounces of steel, which is then divided by 27 to find the amount of cubes you can fill. At the end of the year, the winners (1st through 6th place) will be determined, and rewarded with a digital trophy in memory of their accomplishment. Like this post to enter. After 20+ entrants, OR 100+ cubes collected and posted with evidence below, the adventure will be revealed. May the best pirate win!<br />(First 1/4 of prompt)<br />Amid a roiling torrent of oceanic mist, the Titan surged forth, its armored contours glinting with the refracted light of the golden Sun. Sailing forth, a ebony flag streaming from its cyclopean mast whose oaken contours extended to the heavens akin to a morose soul seeking companionship with the entities of the azure dome whose curvaceous length arched overhead. The pirate hunter pivoted, its bow angling to level with Havana. The hunt begins.<br />(Part II)<br />Tremulous with undulating waves of anxiety, Kerointh extended his forth the vessel of bronze flesh which ill contained opal bone, and caressed the manuscript before him. Such a device would grant him his youth anew! Yet this intricate contrivance additionally required a nearly unfathomable amount of steel. Unfortunate, yet not indomitable, he could easily "reason" such quantities from pirates, proper exploitation of weakness, and a man could attain anything he wished! Without doubt, he would be young anew, and the earth would burn beneath him.<br />(Part III)<br />Sinuous cords of tendons' serpentine contours ascended from Edward's powerful hand as he grasped a shard of jaundiced paper whose edge bore feeble tendrils which undulated amid thew wind's matronly embrace. "Eternal youth?" he mused, perhaps he would seize such power, for life without age would bear with it a veritable font of gold since many would lust for such ageless life. Yet this Templar who sought it, would likely be dispatched to garner the remaining shard of the manuscript, yet this would be facile. The impetuous man had issued a command to extort steel from pirates, perhaps he could use this...

The player assumes the role of an Abstergo Entertainment research analyst who's digging into the life of Edward Kenway using an Animus. Since you're not part of Desmond's family line, fans may raise an eyebrow at the fact that a non-relative can experience the memories of another. Ubisoft assures there are story foundations for this teased in AC III. The most likely scenario would seem to be tied to Desmond's conversation with his father, William, late in the game after the old man is rescued from Abstergo. When Desmond asks if the Templars got to him, William replies that he was able to resist, but it may not have been enough. "I know they've been working on ways to extract memories and let others sift through those memories," he says. "Maybe they're even analyzing mine right now."
[[User:2013DM|2013DM]] ([[User talk:2013DM|talk]]) 19:57, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

William's fears are confirmed after the end credits, when players begin controlling Connor as someone other than Desmond. An unknown voice directs your quest to find pivots within the Animus. Once you're successful, the voice celebrates, "Holy crap. We did it. It's done. His data's uploading to the cloud. Vegas baby! Vegas!" The player's real-life gamertag is then shown to be "synchronized with the cloud." Is this William Miles' data? Is the voice on the line an employee of Abstergo Entertainment?
:No thank you. I don't think I could commit to a year long contest for Black Flag, and since the prize is just a token, I doubt many others would see it being worth it.

Hiya,
I altered three things, and your revert left me a bit puzzled; with which thing did you have a problem? --{{User:The Crimson Eagle/sig}} 22:39, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Mainly the "dying a Arnold" part, but I also remember the Infamy having "apple" in lower-case when Benedict dies. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 22:42, April 28, 2013 (UTC)
I wanted to ask real quick: have we ever considered categorizing memories by type? I only ask because while looking for Templar hunt and Homestead memories I've struggled to find what I'm looking for in the past, so categorizing by type as well could eleviate that for anyone who's had the same problem. -[[User:Molotov.cockroach|Molotov.cockroach]] ([[User talk:Molotov.cockroach|talk]]) 23:37, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Each memory has a memory navbox at the bottom of the article, listing all of a game's memories. :::On your order confirmation email, it should be listed as a digital item. You don't need specific software for it. I believe there is a link to a web client somewhere on the wiki. I think the reason it won't let you enter your name is because spaces aren't allowed in the IRC when choosing names. If you put an underscore where the space would be, it should work.

Hello there, I'm from the Watch Dogs wiki; http://watch-dogs.wikia.com/wiki/Watch_Dogs_Wiki.
I could probably alter the code so I don't need to repeat that line of code over and over again. But, and this is going to sound really lazy, if I did that, the OCD within me would compel me to change it for every single article, and I'm not sure if I want to do that. Even then, I recall it being done that way even before I took up weapons, so this isn't just me stubbornly refusing to let go of my own ideas. --{{User:The Crimson Eagle/sig}} 09:58, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

Assassin's creed is a very popular title and publisher by same company as Watch Dogs. I know that Assassin's Creed is very popular, with good reason of course. Your wiki does the series justice so far as I can see, so I would really love to form a link between the two wikis.
:I do get what you're saying, but as you know from me with my approach to <nowiki><br></nowiki> tags, I'm a reductionist. If there be unnecessary characters, I chop 'em out. :P [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 21:14, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

Hopefully it would help share the interests of two different takes of the open-world genre.
::You don't remember me hunting down many pages for <nowiki><br> and <ref></nowiki> tags? They drove me mad. Mad, I tell ya! Tell you what, if I find a way to shorten the code (which shouldn't be too hard), would you be willing to help me in my crusade to change it across the articles? I wouldn't mind doing it myself, but I've gone through those articles so many times I feel like I only piss people off when I edit them. --{{User:The Crimson Eagle/sig}} 21:21, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

== Animus Core quote ==

So, a recent user added a quote to the [[Animus Core]] page. The quote is thus:

"Enter the Animus Core as it struggles to load New York. While the center is complete, the outer reaches remain raw and ever changing. Don't let the peculiar environment distract you, assassins lurk around every shifting corner."
―Ubisoft description.

So, I've brought this up with Nesty and she said it is OOU and should be converted into in-universe style by you yourself. So, can you do it? [[User:Altaïr Skywalker 47|<span style="font-family:Vivaldi;font-size:20px;color:#FF496C;">'''Alty'''</span>]] [[User talk:Altaïr Skywalker 47|<span style="font-family:Century Gothic;font-size:10px;color:#FFD700;">'''Death Star'''</span>]] 07:15, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

I doubt there is even an in-universe quote for Animus Core, so I'll just remove it. The stuff it's trying to mention is already there on the article. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 18:36, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, what exactly is wrong with listing the map variations? I thought I was helping by providing information, but apparently, that information is not needed. I don't see why. Just because the variations are purely aesthetic, doesn't mean they don't matter. And I find the reasoning for the deleting of quotes extremely dodgy as well; both (all three if you count the [[New York Brewery]]) are out-of-universe, so why does the Virginian Plantation one get to stay. You say it's allowed to stay there because it's descriptive, then how about just allowing any quote there, as long as it describes the map? If I changed the description on the article itself, so that the information in the quote would no longer be redundant, would that allow the quote to stay on the page? I feel like there's a lack of consistency here :/ I'd be more satisfied if there'd at least be a clear-cut policy on what kind of quotes are allowed and what kinds aren't.

I'm sorry if this comes across as rude, but I'm a bit frustrated. I feel like people are not giving me straight answers.

[[User:Crookandcharlatan|Crookandcharlatan]] ([[User talk:Crookandcharlatan|talk]]) 18:57, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry if my edits seem counter-productive, but the Wiki is in the midst of re-organizing itself to cater to a more in-universe perspective. I removed the Animus Core quote because it was communicating directly at the player of AC3, and didn't really fit in with the Abstergo Entertainment aspect of the multiplayer.

Also, I'm not steadfastly opposed to mentioning aesthetic changes in the maps, but by the way they're phrased, they're coming across somewhat "these are paramaters players control", instead of "this is a function that was improved from the Animi Training Program and implemented into the Animus games console by Abstergo Entertainment", if you get what I'm trying to say.

If you're directing the article straight at the person playing the Xbox or PS3, it most likely will come out as OOU.

I left Virginia Plantation's quote as it was because the quote itself could be technically interpretated as IU, but I admit that I don't the mention of "Ubisoft description". [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 19:07, July 27, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you, now I'm at least a little clearer on the subject. I'm still not sure what to do with that quote on the Virginian Plantation though. So, quotes that address the reader/player are not allowed? I guess I might just delete that quote and the one on the New York Brewery page then (I'm an all-or-nothing kind of editor, I want every article to feel equally detailed, so I get frustrated over one page having a quote while the other one doesn't :P). But, from your explanation, I gather the aesthetic variations are allowed to be mentioned as long as I rephrase them a bit, so that they'll appear more in-universe?

==Multiplayer Maps==
== Assassin's Creed Recollection Missions ==
I still don't really have an idea of where to go with questions I have, so forgive me for bothering you again ^^;

I've primarily busied myself with multiplayer maps so far, and the next one I was going to tackle was [[Saint Pierre]]. I've got some images lined up, I will be adding those the Wiki once I start, but I'm a bit worried about the article itself. The previous maps I've done are not specific: [[Animus Core]] is a purely fictional location, while [[Virginian Plantation]] and [[New York Brewery]] are based on plantations and breweries respectively, they have no individual history associated with them. Saint Pierre however is based on an actual location with actual history. So, to what extent should the history of that location be detailed in the article? What information would be relevant in this cause? (is the historic information currently present in the article satisfactory?) Should I focus on what the multiplayer map actually looks like (as I've done with previous three)? Should it have a table of content?
I noticed your contributions to the Ece Ashkar page. I take it that means you have Assassin's Creed Recollection, correct? If so, will you please add all of th missions to the Recollections/missions articled? Their game was released years ago, and we still haven't managed to finish the list of missions. Would you please contribute to that article? I would do it myself, but I was unable to obtain the game before it was removed from the AppStore. [[User:Toolen|Toolen]] ([[User talk:Toolen|talk]]) 21:38, January 26, 2016 (UTC)

I'm just looking for some tips on how I should structure the article, how in-depth I should be when it concerns historic information,... By the way, just out of curiousity, do you think Animus Core, Virginian Plantation and New York Brewery are extensive enough right now as articles? They can't really compare to articles as detailed as [[Fort St-Mathieu]] for example :|

While I see your point in removing the colon indents, Sima [[User_talk:Master_Sima_Yi#Subtitles|said]] I could use that format. See, I was trying to replicate the style used in the Helix files transcripts, with the indents & all, but because of the file view formatting it had to be modified. You prefer something else? --[[User:Darman36|Darman]] ([[User talk:Darman36|talk]]) 12:02, April 27, 2016 (UTC)

What's currently contained on Saint Pierre for the historical information is fine as it is, since there's no events in the AC universe that display it outside of a general description of its establishment. For the multiplayer information, I would add it underneath the short paragraph detailing its involvement as a location in Abstergo Entertainment's product.
:In all fairness, when it comes to the asterisk parts, they're fine without additional indents. So long as you indent before your square brackets that indicate a pause, the layout should be fine. [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 13:33, April 27, 2016 (UTC)

For Animus Core and the others, I doubt they would be as extensive as the other maps, for the reason you mentioned – they pretty much don't have any historical information to document.
::Sorry, I'm confused: you say to not have additional indents, but indent before paused sections? The pauses are supposed to be flush with the left edge, with subtitles indented. --[[User:Darman36|Darman]] ([[User talk:Darman36|talk]]) 14:01, April 27, 2016 (UTC)

Also, you can ask me anything, anytime, though sometimes I won't be able to answer it immediately (when I'm asleep, for instance). [[User:Slate Vesper|Slate Vesper]] ([[User talk:Slate Vesper|talk]]) 14:17, July 28, 2013 (UTC)
:::Yes, but you gave everything an indent in the page, when the process of adding a bulletpoint naturally indents the spoken text. So, you had essentially "double" indented the spoken parts and singularly indented the bracketed text "[text]".

More questions :D I wanted to do [[Boston North End]] next, so I started up ACIII again to search for background information. I also wanted to check whether the multiplayer map is based on a part of Boston in the singleplayer. I haven't found it yet, but I did stumble across the area [[Boston Harbor]] is based on, so that gives me hope that it exists.
:::Now, I ended up getting confused because we don't generally indent when we're copying the dialogue from the games to the wiki for particular memories, yet you had somewhat laid the page out like a script, for which breaks in the dialogue are actually indented further in layout-wise than the spoken pieces, as you can [http://www.slideshare.net/harvyrejano/sample-script-in-a-short-film see here]. The "Teacher" part is aligned further to the left than the (text like this).

So, anyway, I just hoped that you might know whether "Boston North End" has an in-game database entry (like [[Green Dragon Tavern]], which is apparently in Boston North End, according to the wiki) and if you had any idea where the Boston North End area is in the singleplayer. I know that might be a bit of a stretch, but I figured I'd give it a shot. You do seem to be the go-to-guy for multiplayer.
:::If you would like, could you please look over the revision I'm about to do and see if it's suitable, because it's the layout for memory pages' dialogue, or if you'd prefer the layout shown in the link. Mariner Image[edit source]

Crookandcharlatan (talk) 10:02, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Stop panicking. All you would need to do is ask the artist's permission and make sure to use Screenshots or Cc-by-sa-3.0 next time.

And yes, it would be Ubisoft property, since they are designs for one of their games, which they employed the artist for. Their IP, so any production material like artistic designs belongs to them. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:01, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry for freaking out.
Also, just for future reference, what is the Public Domain template used for? ^^; Crookandcharlatan (talk) 18:31, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

Revamp Animi Avatars Pages[edit source]

Hey there, Slate

So, there's been a "Revamp template" hovering atop the Animi Avatars (Brotherhood) page for quite some time, and I'd like to try my hand at fixing it up.

Thanks in advance ^^ Crookandcharlatan (talk) 16:09, August 23, 2013 (UTC)

Primary/secondary/tertiary/quaternary are for the categories, because Abstergo are linked throughout all the renditions of the multiplayer, so they must have some plans behind it all.

For the in-article context, first stage is Brotherhood, second stage for Revelations, and console stage is for AC3 currently, with Black Flag probably being the second console stage. Slate Vesper (talk) 17:37, August 23, 2013 (UTC)

Some MediaWiki:Common.js coding please[edit source]

Hello StormbeastSlate,

Could you do me a favour and add this coding to MediaWiki:Common.js

$(function () {
    if (wgUserName) {
        $('.username-replace').text(wgUserName);
    }
});

This will make my template Template:username|Username]]}} work, showing the username of the person who visits the page.

Greetings,

Ow, I saw your mark of deletion. I made a new template, because this one will work with this coding, while the other one doesn't. But we could merge them of course, I just didn't want to disturb that coding.

I wouldn't mind merging them, but I don't have access. Vatsa does though.

Oh, and I'm Slate by the way. Storm is a different Staff member. :P Slate Vesper (talk) 22:54, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

I've merged them now, you can delete my template. And you mean you don't have access to the mediawiki page?
I believe only Vatsa, Amnestyy and Sima would have access considering they're bureaucrats. Slate Vesper (talk) 23:00, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

Multiplayer taunts[edit source]

Hi, Slate, I has a multiplayer-related question :x

I've spent a bit of my time (a little too much actually) listening and listing the multiplayer taunts from ACR. And based on what I found, I concluded that multiplayer characters have seven available taunts: selecting one of the three taunts in the character customization screen gives you two taunts the character can use when a target/civillian is selected (e.g. the Corsair's third taunt "Fear my revenge" has the additional "Buon viaggio" taunt). So altogether that would add up to six, with one taunt left for when the character stuns a pursuer.

  • "Out of my way!" (taunt #1)
  • "Beg my forgiveness!" (taunt #2)
  • "Clumsy ape!" (taunt #3)
  • "Behold!" (additional taunt accompanying taunt #1)
  • "I fear no man." (additional taunt accompanying taunt #2)
  • "Face me!" (additional taunt accompanying taunt #3)
  • "I don't have time for this." (taunt after stunning a pursuer)

And then there's this one: http://allsoundsasscreed.tumblr.com/post/17704495912/you-have-sullied-my-blade-the-guardian-odai

I've gone through the history of some of those articles, which was kind of amusing sometimes; I feel we are approaching the construction of Animi Avatar articles better this time around :) That is all, apologies for this absurdly long post ^^; Crookandcharlatan (talk) 19:15, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

I wouldn't quite know how to trigger the eight taunt, as I was working under the same assumption that you have been (kills x2, stuns x1 for a total of 7). Perhaps it's for when you escape someone?
Also, you've been doing a great job on the MP pages so far. I'll give them a little once over and fix anything if it needs it, but I'm happy with your progress so far. :D Slate Vesper (talk) 19:28, August 28, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm, I've sent a message to the person that records them, so perhaps that'll shed some light on things (probably should've thought of that earlier). Hopefully she'll reply in the coming days.
And no worries ^^ I was a bit stuck on what to do on the Wiki after the multiplayer maps, so I've just taken this on as my little project. Describing clothing is difficult though (especially if the design just looks cool, but not very logical) :P Crookandcharlatan (talk) 19:50, August 28, 2013 (UTC)

Mentoring[edit source]

Hey Slate,

So, don't jump to conclusions because of that title :P Alty recommended certain people for mentoring (since I recently applied for the Apprenticeship Program), and one of them was you. I had a check and you weren't listed in the Mentor's lounge, but I asked on the IRC and AnimusRadiation replied you were in fact a mentor. So I'm here to ask you, on the advice of Sima, why you're not listed there. It's just me being curious, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to :) Crookandcharlatan (talk) 11:38, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

Like all Staff members, I can choose to be a Mentor to an Apprentice if I wish.
Perhaps it's a pussy-weak excuse, but I'm the kind of person who likes to be absolutely certain about things before I act on them. Slate Vesper (talk) 13:21, September 3, 2013 (UTC)

IU weapons categories[edit source]

Hey there, Slate, it's good ol' Crim here. I was wondering if you've made any decisions about IU weapons categories like American Revolution weapons? Because I'm just about to categorise weapons by what type they are (short blades, et al.) and I thought it would make sense to get both done at once. --Crimson Knight Intercom 15:09, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Slate Vesper (talk) 20:03, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

They both seem fine to me. The only one I have small doubts for is "Liberation of Rome weapons", but I'm not sure if there are many alternatives. I shall muse over this. --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:17, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

I brought the subject up on the IRC, and Sima suggested that we adopt this method:

  • "15th century weapons" for AC2
  • "16th century weapons" for ACB and ACR
  • "18th century weapons" for AC3, AC4, and AC3L

And I'm assuming we can use "12th century weapons" for what little AC weapons we have. I'm cool with whatever we decide, in all honesty, but I just thought I'd let you know. --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:35, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

That's alright in some respect, but I'd rather that weapon pages for more than one game don't merge under one category, since it may confuse someone looking for AC3's weapons into thinking they can get something from AC3L or AC4 in their game. That's why I've chosen to make them specific to the main event that each game covers, considering that future titles can always occur in the 12th century or similar times. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:13, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Warning[edit source]

Hello Slate Vesper,

If possible, I would like to discuss with you, why I have been given a warning, I understand that originally, I was edit warring but it was my impression that an agreement had been put into place, the page would read Welsh, but upon clicking the hyperlink, the user would be directed towards the United Kingdom page, if that is no longer the case, please let me know but this was agreed upon by admins. As for my warning, is there anyway of getting this revoked, I was only doing what I thought Alientraveller and I agreed upon, obviously not realising it would get me into trouble with admins.

Thank you,

SionIeuanDavies (talk) 16:50, September 11, 2013 (UTC)

I gave you a warning because calling Edward Kenway "Welsh" was not fully agreed upon, and so to settle the matter, I made an edit stating that he was "born in Wales" in the second paragraph of his page to accomodate his heritage while still allowing "British" to remain. However, you still continued to swap British for Welsh, even after everything should have been sorted.
Keep in mind however that it is only a first warning. So long as you've learned that edit-warring is not tolerated, and that you can ask people on their talk pages (like this) when you have an issue to discuss, and take the Wiki's rules and policies into mind, you'll likely never get another warning. After all, even I have had a first warning. Slate Vesper (talk) 17:18, September 11, 2013 (UTC)

On the AC 4 Hawk page it says that in the US the comic came out in November 12, 2012 except all the places I went to too buy it says that it is coming out November 16. MP Kill animations[edit source]

Hey Slate!

  • 2 axe kills originate from ACR, they are the default ones used for a character that is below silent and is walking, so they're identical to the first two described on, for example, the Vanguard's page.
  • 2 axe kills originate from ACIII, they are the ones used for a character that is below silent and is running. There's no description for these on any of our articles yet.
  • 2 axe kills originate from the Independent; they are the Rebel's unique kill animations and she's the only one who can perform them in ACIV. I'm assuming the four above can be performed by any character equipped with an axe.

So, how will we list these now in the articles for the Multiplayer characters? ^^; Would love your input on this. Crook The Constantine District 10:56, November 3, 2013 (UTC)

I would call the walking animations "Low Profile" as usual, since they're stock animations, the High Profile stock animations as "High Profile" and the character specific ones as "Personal High Profile" or something similar, in order to set them apart from the standard ones.
Also, sorry for the late reply, I've been having some internet troubles recently. Slate Vesper (talk) 08:56, November 4, 2013 (UTC)

There was no merit in doing it. Changing "Kenway's Jackdaw" to "Edward Kenway's ship, Jackdaw", when Edward Kenway had already been specified in the article is just a moot point. All it leads to is extra text. Slate Vesper (talk) 13:28, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

It makes no sense for the artifact location dicussion to happen afer caoture as the Gestapo would not let the prisoner;'s meet each other and the dicussion itself references , "swarm of guards outside" which would not be needed foe the hanging detail bit would be for the arrest of the whole group. Matt Travers[edit source]

Excuse me, sorry for bothering you but I am curious on what you think of my character Matthew Travers is coming along. I have not heard much from other people and I was just curious. UndeadHero (talk) 00:46, February 25, 2014 (UTC)

I will take a look now.

Edit: Just had a quick gander, and the character isn't bad. Like many things, the presentation may be spruced up a little bit with the help of a Fanon Staff member or other trusted user though. Slate Vesper (talk) 00:49, February 25, 2014 (UTC)

Hey there. Listen um, I was about to make an item, a special item, for my Fanon Character, and uh, is there anyway I could make an article about it? Like Fanon Item or something like that? I just want to ask in case there's some rules I don't know about that. Thanks for noticing, btw.

Anacletos[edit source]

Hey Slate,

Would you mind telling me why you undid my categorization edit on Anacletos' article? :s I figured that, since he was hired by the Templars, he "escaped" slavery, which would make him a Maroon, rather than a slave, right? I might be mixing things up here. Anyways, just leave a message whenever you can :)

Thanks for reading. Crook The Constantine District 08:36, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Maroons were African refugees that escaped slavery, not any slave that broke free. If that was the case, there wouldn't be much point to having two separate categories. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 08:40, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Ah okay, thanks for clearing it up. Crook The Constantine District 09:08, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Brahman[edit source]

Hey Slate, would you be available to help me out for a bit? My copy of Brahman is in Dutch, and I don't think we'll want Dutch quotes on our articles. Won't take much time. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:58, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Assassin's Creed: Pirates[edit source]

Hey Slate,

So, along with the millions of others things that still need to be done on the Wiki, our AC: Pirates section is looking very bare at the moment. I've been told you have the game? I don't have it myself, but I'd like to help in any way possible - I'd just like to get some work done on this game's lore as well, create some articles and stuff. I'm actually a bit interested in how it ends, considering there's mention of a Fragment of Eden (whether that's an Apple or an entirely different Piece of Eden, I don't know).

I've watched a video playthrough by some dude on Youtube, but unfortunately he stopped uploading videos about Pirates a month ago :s So, my knowledge only extends as far as he's played, but I did write down the documents he found and the general plotline, so I suppose that's something? I've also discovered some concept art of Alonzo, La Buse and Jumao.

That's all I've got, let me know if you'd be up for this. I completely understand if you're busy by the way. Thanks for reading :) Crook The Constantine District 21:46, March 13, 2014 (UTC)

I am absolutely willing to collaborate on Pirates with you, but I'm currently having an issue with the Apple Store having charged me payments accumulating up to roughly £21-22 GBP, yet they haven't actually claimed the money from my Santander account and it's stuck in withholdings, even after roughly 3-4 days.
It was due to this whole mess that I was led to reset the entire game, which is somewhat convenient for a replay, but from where I was previously, the game is stuck on a cliffhanger pending a future update, which despite the recent additions Ubi made, they did not bother to add more lore.
From what I can recall of the Fragment's power, it seems like it has the ability to change one's destiny or something vague like that. As I say, it's from memory, and though I suppose the sequences in the game can be replayed, it costs a scaling amount of supplies to travel between the later locations of the game, and to go back to location one from the "end", it does take a whole lot of grinding or shelling out real cash (that I currently want to avoid).
The whole reason I seem to have accumulated this monetary mess was through my attempts to use cash I wouldn't miss to unlock a coin-based side path with the new update, to further explore the story. It seems however that I've no bang for my buck, and I need to get that locked partition of my available balance back in tow. Slate Vesper (talk) 23:02, March 13, 2014 (UTC)

About Brahman[edit source]

Sorry to ask this because I'm confused but, is Brahman canon to the AC universe? Thanks.

(PS: If it is, help me adding some content in the Modern times because I haven't read it! Thanks!)

Cheers,

AgentG231 (talk) 03:46, April 22, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't mean to answer a question on someone else's talkpage, but it is canon considering it's published by Ubiworkshop, is featured in the AC Encyclopedia, and is shown on Initiates. It also has no discrepancies with the games. Raghava Shah 03:54, April 22, 2014 (UTC)

Well, thanks! (Raghava, can you please update the Modern times page with some modern day info from Brahman? Thanks!) --AgentG231 (talk) 04:06, April 22, 2014 (UTC)

Wording[edit source]

Hey Slate. Well, Raghava and I had done adding content from Brahman. Can you please check the wording? Thanks!

If you'd be so kind[edit source]

Hey, Slate, I just wanted to say thank you for taking care of the mess I've left on pages. xD

Also, since my memory is faulty right now, could you change "Price" to "Cost" on tables, change "Statistics" to "Weapon statistics" on headings, and add "The" to image captions when appropriate, if I forget to? I have a feeling I'll forget these quite a lot. :) --Crimson Knight Intercom 20:47, May 7, 2014 (UTC)

No problem Crim, I'll get on that right away and leave the main details on the articles to you. :D Slate Vesper (talk) 20:49, May 7, 2014 (UTC)

Eric Cooper[edit source]

Hi, I feel really bad and ignorant that I failed to notice Cooper may be transgender. I'd assumed Cooper's tragic romance was a reference to Scottish-Pakistani tensions (no, I haven't actually seen Ae Fond Kiss). Certainly I now understand "Not one of them [Gavin's crew] has ever looked at me like I was a thing. I'd never experienced that before, ken?" I thought surgeries just meant he was wounded in battle; I certainly didn't intend to whitewash the character. --Alientraveller (talk) 15:28, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

Don't worry about it Alien. Sometimes things can be perceived differently when looked at with a different perspective. It may be that this was one of those cases. Slate Vesper (talk) 15:30, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

Contest suggestion[edit source]

May the best pirate win!
(First 1/4 of prompt)
Amid a roiling torrent of oceanic mist, the Titan surged forth, its armored contours glinting with the refracted light of the golden Sun. The hunt begins.
(Part II)
Tremulous with undulating waves of anxiety, Kerointh extended his forth the vessel of bronze flesh which ill contained opal bone, and caressed the manuscript before him. Without doubt, he would be young anew, and the earth would burn beneath him.
(Part III)
Sinuous cords of tendons' serpentine contours ascended from Edward's powerful hand as he grasped a shard of jaundiced paper whose edge bore feeble tendrils which undulated amid thew wind's matronly embrace.

2013DM (talk) 19:57, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

No thank you. I don't think I could commit to a year long contest for Black Flag, and since the prize is just a token, I doubt many others would see it being worth it.
I wish you all the best however. Slate Vesper (talk) 20:19, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

Maharajas[edit source]

I recently created a category page called Maharajas instead of Maharajas of India, and I was wondering if there is any way that we can change that. Raghava Shah 19:21, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

No, you can't change it. You'll have to apply the deletion template and recreate the category. Slate Vesper (talk) 19:23, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

Ok. Raghava Shah 19:26, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

'Maharaja of India' is also not the correct term, since they only ruled over the Sikh Empire was comprised only a small portion of India and nearby countries. Additionally, I don't find the category very necessary as it only includes two characters who already share several categories. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 19:35, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

Categorization according to memory type[edit source]

Hiya,

I wanted to ask real quick: have we ever considered categorizing memories by type? I only ask because while looking for Templar hunt and Homestead memories I've struggled to find what I'm looking for in the past, so categorizing by type as well could eleviate that for anyone who's had the same problem. -Molotov.cockroach (talk) 23:37, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

Each memory has a memory navbox at the bottom of the article, listing all of a game's memories. If you can't find a specific memory, use any memory that you know from that game and then open the memory navbox until you spot the one you're after. Slate Vesper (talk) 00:48, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

Unite Program[edit source]

I have sent a request to join your team. Has it come through? Outsider (talk) 16:08, August 8, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, and you've been accepted (like that wasn't going to happen :p). If you enter your code you received on your pre-order email confirmation in the redeem code section on the view rewards screen, it'll unlock the last part. :D Slate Vesper (talk) 17:44, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
I'll sort it on Sunday. My code has gone missing, so I'll need to pre-order it again or email Ubi. Don't worry, I'll have it done then. I would sort it tomorrow, but I'm out walking again :) Outsider (talk) 22:04, August 8, 2014 (UTC)
On your order confirmation email, it should be listed as a digital item. If you can't find it, I wouldn't recommend pre-ordering it again, since Ubi will take money out of your bank, even if it's a temporary measure. Get it sorted through support, and let Mr_Shade or Black Widow on Twitter know if they don't get back to you soon. I had a word with Shade when I didn't get a reply back from Support about the Liberation Mysteries of the Bayou Pack, and he soon kicked their butts into doing something.
Anyway, I hope it goes all okay with you, and enjoy the fresh air out there for me too. I don't get enough as it stands. :P Slate Vesper (talk) 22:23, August 8, 2014 (UTC)

When I say it's gone missing, I mean I waited too long to sort it, so I can't access the downloadable content. Also, when I said "pre-order it again", I don't mean twice. I already canceled a while back because I wasn't expecting them to take all the money at once (which they did for some reason) & it got refunded. Come to think of it, they probably wouldn't give me another code without me pre-ordering again. I planned to pre-order it again in the coming weeks, but since I can't access my old code that came with my previous pre-order I'll do it on Sunday. I also need to pre-order the Rogue collector's edition, so it's beneficial to me.
If you're worried about me not being able to get you the downloadable content, don't. I love AC more than most things, so I want it too :)
And, Kain, what are you doing over here? It's adults only... Outsider (talk) 22:54, August 8, 2014 (UTC)

I'm having issues with the Ubi servers, Slate. I think it's because of the hurricane near my house. It should be ok tomorrow to sort it, but I'll keep trying to get it to work. Sorry. Outsider (talk) 18:23, August 10, 2014 (UTC)

Code Redeemed[edit source]

Just wanted to let you know that I've redeemed my code, so we've got all the DLC. I wasn't expecting to have so many issues just to get this sorted, but alas it is done. I hope the mission is of a good length.

By the way, are you getting any collector's editions for Unity or Rogue? I'm getting the Notre Dame edition for Unity & the collector's edition for Rogue. Outsider (talk) 15:40, August 12, 2014 (UTC)

/I smugly grin in Outsider's general direction.

Kain, he means that we got all the DLC offered on the Unite pre-order program, so stop it. And thanks, me, Nesty and my random friend appreciate it (but mostly me). To answer your question, I am getting the Guillotine Edition of Unity, and I might be considering the Collector's Edition of Rogue, but it all depends on whether they're due to release further editions, granted that it's a bigger console release than Sofia previously did with Liberation. --Crimson Knight Intercom 09:58, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

You don't remember me hunting down many pages for <br> and <ref> tags? They drove me mad. Mad, I tell ya! Tell you what, if I find a way to shorten the code (which shouldn't be too hard), would you be willing to help me in my crusade to change it across the articles? I wouldn't mind doing it myself, but I've gone through those articles so many times I feel like I only piss people off when I edit them. --Crimson Knight Intercom 21:21, September 7, 2014 (UTC)
Certainly, but it shouldn't be straight away. I'll inform you when I have booked holiday from work, which should be sometime soon, and then I can focus on that part then. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:22, September 7, 2014 (UTC)
That's fine with me. I can only really do serious work on weekends now anyway. --Crimson Knight Intercom 21:24, September 7, 2014 (UTC)

I've noticed that sometimes when you try to remove unnecessary coding like slashes, the edit reverts immediately, and it doesn't even count as an edit.--Bovkaffe (talk) 16:55, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Personally, I don't see why the system does it anyway. The space and the slash do nothing for the coding, unless there's some super secret meaning behind it that eludes me. In any case, it's unneeded and therefore I will trim it out wherever I see it. Slate Vesper (talk) 16:58, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Murder Mysteries[edit source]

I agree with the idea of merging the sections, but are you suggesting I merge the case summary into the collapsible box containg the culprit or scrap the culprit and just have the case summary hidden? <choose><option>http://images.wikia.com/assassinscreed/images/7/7f/ArcemzSig.png</option></choose> 03:02, December 23, 2014 (UTC)

I feel it better for both of them to be merged, perhaps under a "Conclusion" header. Stating the murderer first embeds the point, followed by their methods, comes across sort of how you see a murder mystery depicted in a film or television. Slate Vesper (talk) 20:52, December 25, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, I'm up to the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat at the moment, so let me know how you feel about this format. If it's all good then I'll finish this one and go back and fix up the others before moving onto the other murder mysteries. <choose><option>http://images.wikia.com/assassinscreed/images/7/7f/ArcemzSig.png</option></choose> 10:08, December 27, 2014 (UTC)

Subject 1 File[edit source]

While I see your point in removing the colon indents, Sima said I could use that format. See, I was trying to replicate the style used in the Helix files transcripts, with the indents & all, but because of the file view formatting it had to be modified. You prefer something else? --Darman (talk) 12:02, April 27, 2016 (UTC)

In all fairness, when it comes to the asterisk parts, they're fine without additional indents. So long as you indent before your square brackets that indicate a pause, the layout should be fine. Slate Vesper (talk) 13:33, April 27, 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm confused: you say to not have additional indents, but indent before paused sections? The pauses are supposed to be flush with the left edge, with subtitles indented. --Darman (talk) 14:01, April 27, 2016 (UTC)
Yes, but you gave everything an indent in the page, when the process of adding a bulletpoint naturally indents the spoken text. So, you had essentially "double" indented the spoken parts and singularly indented the bracketed text "[text]".
Now, I ended up getting confused because we don't generally indent when we're copying the dialogue from the games to the wiki for particular memories, yet you had somewhat laid the page out like a script, for which breaks in the dialogue are actually indented further in layout-wise than the spoken pieces, as you can see here. The "Teacher" part is aligned further to the left than the (text like this).
If you would like, could you please look over the revision I'm about to do and see if it's suitable, because it's the layout for memory pages' dialogue, or if you'd prefer the layout shown in the link. Cheerss, Slate Vesper (talk) 14:25, April 27, 2016 (UTC)
OHHHHH.... Yes, I think that's what I wanted. Apologies, will correct in future. Probably was juggling too many formats at once. Much appreciated. Thanks. --Darman (talk) 15:06, April 27, 2016 (UTC)
