Faustinus (died 259 CE) was the Bishop of Lugdunum during the mid-3rd century.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In 259 CE, Faustinus betrayed his friend Lucius, a Hidden One, by revealing information about Lucius' son Aquilus to his associates. Not too long afterwards, Faustinus was interrogated by Aquilus about his affiliations, until the bishop revealed his accomplice to be Caïus Fulvus Vultur, a Roman Senator and member of the Order of the Ancients.

With the Hidden One taken aback by this revelation, Faustinus quickly pushed Aquilus away, giving the former an opportunity to flee. However, this effort proved to be in vain, as Faustinus was fatally struck in the back by one of Aquilus' throwing knives. His body was later discovered by servants.
