Editing Database: Animus EGO

The Animus EGO is the culmination of every iteration that's come before. It's the most recent version of the device designed for mass market consumer consumption. 

The killer app was intended to be a guided meditation experience, full of soothing virtual environments sourced from your own genetic memories. Instead, it's the staging ground for a potentially harmful artificial intelligence. 

What Abstergo's done with the Animus is awful, it is, but it's in line with all the other shady shit that corporations and governments have done since the beginning of time. But when I look at what Ego might be capable of, rewriting your memories and trapping you in an ever-changing simulation … I worry that I've helped them create something that's on the same level as one of those ancient Isu machines. 

Is it possible that humanity's technology is catching up to the precursors?
